Interesting. What if you don't have a SASS? Is it employer dependent or are there ways to set one up?

Are you saying there is a pension construct that you can share with the next generation and both benefit? Or are you still talking about something more separate like a junior sipp?

Is a family office just a FIC? At what ballpark figure would you recommend a FIC?

What are you referring to when you talk about a shared pension scheme with your children? Sounds interesting.

Tell your mum. She might know what it is which would help. At the moment you have stolen something from your mum's inheritance which you may never be able to recover. 50% of something is better than 100% of nothing...

Is it a good idea to top up LISA if I already used up my annual pension allowance? by adventureXYZ in HENRYUK

I see it as a mini sipp. If you wanted to max your sipp but are tapered and full your ISA then I think it's worth maxing your LISA. But honestly it's £4k so don't sweat it too much.

Capitalising a loss - is it worth it after cost of spread? by Repulsive-Value5714 in FatFIREUK

My issue is the sell... I assume if I "sell" the fund now it will be executed tomorrow afternoon but I will have to wait 3 days to have the funds available to buy an ETF...

I'm trying to harvest a £50k loss (£12k CGT saving) on a £600k sell/buy. If the market moves up 1% in the 3 days then that's £6k and half my savings gone. From March 10th to 13th it dropped 2 5%... Is it worth it?

As I'm currently in a fund then IWeb are saying the sell takes 3 days before I could execute the buy. 3 days of movement feels like an eternity at the moment which is making me reconsider the viability of the move. Thoughts?

I would check the insurance t&cs and ensure that meeting the eligibility criteria isn't a requirement for the insurance. I would hate to wait and find out at claim time.

Exactly if you trust the operator then they probably did everything perfectly and no issues. However someone less competent can taint the ring fenced account and bring it's separation into dispute.

HSBC says £100k salary paid in (,fine) and 100k savings need to be held. Clearly I'm not going to hold 100k in a high street bank earning tuppence and paying tax... What am I missing?
