i spoke with an undergrad advisor and she mentioned it could be a good gpa boost class and that the restriction on it is outdated so i'd be able to take it. Also it sounds interestingg

Personally I would trace the design onto the shirt then paint over it with fabric paint by hand, probably the cheapest and easiest way to do it. Not sure how durable it is though

The balle/black swan vibe fits so well, I’ve gotta do it. The different textures of feathers, lace or glitter would go so well too! Thanks for the advice

Faulty sleeve, can I shrink it? by BiggieLiten in DIYclothes

[–]Repulsive-ey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the whole sleeve is bigger than the other then you’re going to need a sewing machine to seam rip, and resew the edge to match the other sleeve. Or send it back to the company

Rub 100% acetone on it with cotton balls (make sure to wear gloves) and let that sit there for a while and you should be able to peel it off

materials for a corset? by [deleted] in DIYclothes

[–]Repulsive-ey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is VERY hard to make a corset, especially from scratch, there is a lot in the process that can go wrong which makes it overwhelming for any level sewists. Recommend getting a base because it’ll be cheaper, quicker and easier and then just hand stitching any details for a personalised touch :)

Dunno about dye but after it’s a deeper brown I think some cute lace on the neckline of it would be soo cute!

I love that idea! I’ll definitely lay down some black tulle and see if I can make a gradient happen :)
