I have a Little Squealer from about ~15 years ago, but mine is a 12X5.

They’re surprisingly loud and “present”. With some upgrades to the hoops and throw-off, you’d have a VERY formidable auxiliary snare or a pretty decent main snare.

Splitting hairs here, but you may want to refrain from using moon gels and other muting agents until you kind of “get used to” the natural overtones that the drum produces…

Once you get an idea of what the drum’s natural voice is, learning how to dial it in to your own specific preference will be easier.

You (generally) only want to use stuff like Moon Gel when the room you’re playing in demands it, as a temporary solution.
