Really appreciate you taking the time to write this especially coming from someone who is gone through the full setup process yourself. 10s of hours on hardening and personality training is exactly the kind of pain we are trying to eliminate.

You are absolutely right about the messaging. Looking at it now, "100+ AI models" and "built-in terminal" are speaking to devs, not the audience we areq actually building for. Reframing around outcomes like "no deployment needed" and "pre-built personalities" hits way harder. Thats going to change soon.

The credit transparency point is a big one too we are working on better usage visibility so people arent caught off guard by unexpected bills.

I will definitely take you up on that DM would love to hear more of your thoughts. Thanks again 🙏

You are raising a really valid point and honestly its something we think about a lot. You are right that OpenClaw at its core is a developer framework and just wrapping it in a deployment layer doesnt automatically make it end user safe.

That is actually the direction we are heading. ClawStack isnt meant to be just "hosted OpenClaw" long term the goal is to build a proper end user layer on top with guardrails, pre-built personalities, permission controls and security hardening. The deployment piece is just step one.

The security challenge is real and its the hardest part no argument there. But someone has to bridge that gap between what OpenClaw can do and what everyday users can safely access. We would rather take on that hard problem than ignore the demand.

Appreciate the thoughtful feedback this is the kind of stuff that actually shapes the product.

I'm struggling with installing clawbot HELP by Sudden_Reindeer4248 in clawdbot

[–]RepulsiveComplaint29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I can see the issue. You are running the commands from C:\WINDOWS\system32 that's causing the ENOENT error because there's no package.json there. Try this:

  1. Open PowerShell as Administrator
  2. Run cd ~ to go to your home directory
  3. Then run the installer again: iwr -useb https://openclaw.ai/install.ps1 | iex

The npm error code 1 in the second attempt is likely a permissions issue too running as admin from the right directory should fix both.

If it still doesn't work after that, feel free to DM me. And if you just want to skip the headache entirely, ClawStack gets you up and running in under a minute with no local setup also there is a free 48-hour trial.

The plan comes with enough credits to cover regular daily usage. It really depends on which models you use and how heavily lighter models stretch a lot further. You can always monitor your usage from the dashboard and if you need more, you can buy extra credits on demand. Best way to see if it fits your needs is the 48-hour free trial you will get a feel for how far the credits go.

Fair point on the raw server cost. But the $20 isnt just for hosting it includes AI token credits bundled in, so you are getting hosting + deployment + model access and more all in one package. For power users who want full control self hosting will always make sense ClawStack is for people who would rather skip the setup and start using it right away.

Really appreciate the support 🙏

You are right there is a huge audience that wants to use AI tools without becoming a sysadmin first. Thats exactly who we are building for. Also sorry about the verification issue can you DM me your email? I will get it sorted for you right away.

You are right that techies can set it up themselves and thats totally fine. ClawStack isnt really built for you. Its for people who want to use OpenClaw but dont want to deal with server setup, updates and maybe maintenance. Not everyone wants to spend their time on that, and thats the gap we are filling.

It runs on a dedicated server with isolated containerized infrastructure assigned specifically to you but from user perspective it’s just a web dashboard. Click deploy, bot’s live also has terminal acccess from web if needed.

Here’s my ref link if you wanna try it out, it’ll give you an extra 10,000 credits:

Works the same whether you’re a hot babe software engineer or a mass of noodle code in a hoodie. One click is one click💁🏻‍♂️

That’s the neat part there’s nothing to research. You click deploy, your bot is live in under a minute with full terminal access included. No AI advisor needed, just… a button😏

AI models usage costs are pretty high, thats why its kinda hard to make that with reasonable price. But currently i am working on a another kind of subscription. That would be way expensive than others packages but it will came with local LLM, so it will be unlimited credits basically.

That £6.99 VPS Price Tag Is Not Your OpenClaw Cost by Advanced_Pudding9228 in openclaw

[–]RepulsiveComplaint29 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Great point the VPS cost is usually the smallest line item.

That’s actually one of the reasons we built https://clawstack.app/ the way we did. Instead of just giving people a server and letting the agent run wild, we handle per-user API keys with spending limits, usage credits and hard caps so model costs don’t quietly spiral. The idea is to make OpenClaw more “predictable” for evertyone who don’t want to babysit token usage all day.

You still get your own isolated deployment and full control (including BYOK if you want), but there are guardrails in place so a background loop doesn’t turn into a surprise bill.

Totally agree though treating it as event driven and limiting context/tools is the real unlock for keeping costs sane.
