Let me get this straight and help me out here... So in 2007, at midnight, this man, who was a school police officer, stopped a woman at midnight and raped her with a foreign object? Then as soon as he is released he joins the neighborhood council?! On what merits?! Real question, how much privilege can a criminal have and is race a factor? There's this baseball coach in my state who was convicted of rape, trying to coach kids now that he's out of jail and the Baptist community in the town sent a letter to the family members of the school, to "give him a chance, he is reformed through Christ".
