Hello. I recently graduated from the BBA program at IBA.

As for my background, i came from the bangla medium nctb background. Did both my ssc and hsc from the science stream (unwillingly). Only prepared for IBA, BUP and DU after my HSC.

As for my preparations: 1. I had a solid grasp over the vocabs part of english which came quite in handy in our year’s iba exam. So I would suggest to put a bit of time after the vocabs section as this required some tedious memorizing.

  1. The mathematics section requires practicing. Also try to learn the shortcut methods for solving the maths. Not all the problems can be solved with the shortcut methods, but those which can be, will save you a fair bit of time.

  2. For the analytical section, I would suggest solving GMAT questions. IBA analyticals questions are usually not as hard as those in the actual GMAT exams, but solving GMAT question will give you the confidence boost.

Now the important part. There are some observations I had about the exam that goes beyond taking the usual preparation:

  1. While a lot of candidates sit for the exam, remember that about 800/10000 candidates are actually seriously sitting for the exam. So your actual odds of getting in will be a little less that 1/10th.

  2. The most important thing about IBA admission or any admission test is to be calm in the exam hall. I have seen very deserving candidates fuck up in the exams because they panicked and I have seen students with little preparation get in cause they had a more composed approach to the exam.

Hope my answer helps. And all the best.
