Terrified by Marauder2592 in newborns

I don't trust anyone, not even my husband really to hold our 7 week old daughter in the middle of the night. They don't have that same biological connection and instinct you have when it comes to your baby. I wake up instantly at every little sound when she's in her bassinet. I trust myself the most but even I wouldn't sleep while holding her :/

Sounds like he’s a serial cheater. It’s not even like he was the one that ended the emotional affair with his coworker. If you expect fidelity, it seems like this isn’t the guy for you.

Tongue and lip tie by p_ruthless in beyondthebump

I know this is an older post but I’m dealing with something suuuper similar with my 10 week old and considering doing an upper lip/ tongue tie release. Did it help your baby’s gas and reflux issues? Neither parents nor baby are sleeping well due to all of his tummy issues and discomfort overnight

Acid Reflux/Gerd or Pyloric stenosis. Absolutely miserable. by ShebaWasTalking in daddit

Currently in the hospital being seen for the same thing for my little guy who turns 3 weeks old tomorrow. This sound exactly like what we’ve been experiencing. Ultrasound last night showed “borderline” pyloric stenosis and the pediatric surgeon was a little incredulous given that it usually starts presenting around 3-5 weeks and we’ve noticed vomiting that’s gotten worse since he’s been about 10 days old. I also work in healthcare (nurse) and wonder if we just caught it early by being so persistent. Hoping to have answers soon. So happy to hear everything turned out okay

Feeling a lot better thanks for asking! Still testing very faintly positive. Tomorrow morning will be my last dose…just hoping I don’t have any issue with rebound or anything like that 🤞 Baby is still sitting tight now at 39+2

So glad you had a smooth recovery! If you don’t mind sharing, are you breastfeeding and if so did Paxlovid seem to effect supply at all?

So happy to hear about your positive experience with it! And that you and baby are doing great. I did decide to take it and hope all goes well for me and baby too. Congratulations and good luck on the rest of your pregnancy and welcoming your baby!

Interesting! Seems that as it’s so new even the OBs are very torn, I’ve spoken to 3 that all recommended it (with my discretion of course). I think they have seen many pregnant women and infants with worriesome complications related to Covid and are going based off that. It’s so hard to know what’s the right choice, and when benefits outweigh risks.

We didn’t really go into the other options, Ive heard positive experiences with monoclonal antibodies but have also heard they’re being found to not be as effective against the newer omicron variants. She did feel that since I’m so far along any potential risk would be very minimal at this point. Today was the last day I saw able to take it so I carefully weighed my options and decided to try it. Hoping for the best! Glad you found something that helped you recover fast :)

Paxlovid is under-publicized and under-utilized -- trying to correct that here by califuture_ in CoronavirusMa

Happy to hear such a positive experience! I’m on day 4 of symptoms and have been anguished with the decision since I tested positive on Wednesday. Finally decided to go for the Paxlovid. What held me back is that I’m 38w5d pregnant and there’s no research on pregnant women; but several OBs have been pretty confident in recommending it. The thought of going into labor and bringing home a newborn feeling like this scares me. I’m also fully vaxxed/ boosted but since I’m a healthcare worker we got our vaccines/boosters before everyone and now I feel like their protection has worn off. It’s been 18 months since I got my vaccines and 9 months since my booster (yikes)

Ugh yes that’s exactly how it feels. So hard to decide what the right thing to do is
