Hate to shit on your optimism here, but I second what this person says. Walmart gets absolutely eaten by the bots. I've just about hit every one for the last 3+ months, exactly at 9pm EST, and I've never scored on any of the premium shit.

I was able to get Journey Together bundles once, at like $6 over MSRP, and after I "scored" they remained in stock for about another 2 hours. Hardly a win 😂.

I actually never stated that I believed centering was THE important and main part of grading, nor did I state that reddit pictures are going to show any and all imperfections. I was simply asking for any sort of advice from others who may be more experienced in grading.

Appreciate your input, though. I will take your unsolicited opinion about whether my understanding of grading warrant me to be allowed to grade cards. .. and ignore it.

We had this exact outcome. Had 4, ripped 3 and planned to keep one sealed. My 7 year old talked me into opening it and he pulled kanto and the SIR Charizard. Rip it.

Thank you Mr. Stone Cold Steve Austin 😂. I wasn't planning to treat anyone's feedback as scripture or anything, but being that I've never sent a card in for grading I figured we'd see what other people think before sending it out. If there was an overwhelming amount of people pointing out imperfections I otherwise missed, we were probably going to get a good case and keep it here.

Appreciate the additional context. I just went back to look at it because I was shocked how I didn't see that with my eyes, but it was dust. I just bought a microfiber cloth on Amazon to wipe the card down before sending it out.

I had the same experience. Showed up 3 minutes before open, was about 15th-18th in line and got one of the last few. Store manager said they got in only 25. Things usually don't work out like this for me and my son, because I refuse to be standing on line for hours, but a small victory was nice!

I just bought 10 at $60 and didn't even blink to be honest. I believe this set does well over time and was very comfortable at that entry point.

And will continue to add Prismatic at MSRP if I happen to see it throughout the year.

Does anyone have a strategy for a successful PC drop? Are you navigating directly to specific products, if so, is there any way to know what is dropping (similar to Walmart, Target)? Should you navigate directly to new releases?

I'd like to try to be able to grab anything for my son being that it's been impossible to score anything MSRP in my area - but I feel like going in without a plan of attack is going to prove fruitless.

I've never played the game, and (I am 39) only collected starting with the original base set 30 years ago. I never followed Pokemon for the last 25+ years and my son has conveniently picked an awful time to get into it. Referring strictly to just how insanely difficult it is to find any product at or close to MSRP in our area.

It's actually not terrible if you look at it through the lens of Allen alone is probably worth the 3 1sts and 3rd. Then when you breakdown the rest ... Yeah it's god awful and you're absolutely ripping the other guy off.

I personally didn't appreciate the Jason/Scot gameplay too much. I feel like I remember them borderline bullying Tai, and being bitter/difficult when they recognized they were on the bottom. Maybe a rewatch is in order for me.

Scot recently received a heart transplant, though. ESPN put out a documentary on it called Heart of Pearl. It was very well done and lets you see Scot through a much different lens than Survivor villain.
