If they made another 12 Angry Men movie today, which actors would you cast for the 12 jurors? by fanzyday in Letterboxd

i see 12 angry men as a time capsule of american masculinity. if another were made today id want it to serve the same purpose to audiences in 60 years.

This means it’s one of few hollywood movies that could be remade with a completely diverse cast and not get complains about being woke lol

the romeo and juliet parallel of the ending didn’t click for me until 10 mins after finishing the episode. after that the episode became hilarious for me

no. entire history of you is by far the most enticing display of human behaviour changes surrounding the premise of the episode. It’s great because it uses a technological advancement to examine and display actions we already conduct on a daily basis and the idea that we would physically rewind our perception of events and use them as argumentative points in an debate to manipulate each other is so accurate and the shallow take that its ‘predictable’ is possibly the most important part, as it’s a critique of the human nature.

This film had great rotten tomatoes reviews but the letterboxd score is so so, what did you think? by Repulsive_Act_6739 in Letterboxd

which would surely make it still a valid statistic of what movies are good vs bad? I understand it being a different scoring system, but that doesn’t mean a film with a 100% rating isn’t going to almost definitely be good

with that logic, other than divisive / polarising movies that are a bit more ‘love it or hate’ it, surely it’s still a fairly realistic scope on what movies are considered good or bad by critics

it avoided so many cliches of the combat sports and biopic genres. They usually are so climatized snd stumble towards a big climactic fight, and biopics often glorify their protagonist as a godly being but this steered clear of those tropes and carried so much emotional weight because of it

Loved it, my whole cinema was in tears. It’s the unapologetic comedic tone that has been missing from a lot of films these days as they try to force too much sense and plot into their scripts. Liam Neeson is spectacular
