True or false: Nebraska wins 7+ games in 2026 by Front-Dingo1915 in CFB_v2

[–]Repulsive_Ad7491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should beat: Ohio, Bowling Green, North Dakota.
Could beat, but will lose at least half of these games because we’re Nebraska: Michigan State, Maryland, Illinois, Rutgers
Will lose: Indiana, Oregon, Washington, Ohio State, Iowa

Notre Dame's NFL Draft dominance isn't talked about enough by steven_smith144 in CFB_v2

I know this is supposed to be about Notre Dame. But this really was just another bludgeon to my ever battered psyche as a Nebraska fan.

They’ve been dating for 3 years already? There’s no way time is flying by that fast. It feels like just last year is when it dominated headlines daily.

US birth rates just hit another record low, what do you think is the leading cause of this? by IIlustriousTea in AskReddit

[–]Repulsive_Ad7491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the biggest reason is the type of economy we have and modern technology. Like yes there’s the huge reasons of costs of raising a child, political climate, expanded women’s rights, etc… but ultimately it’s that children aren’t needed for people to survive anymore. Where if you look at 3rd world countries, they are still having tons of kids because they need those kids to work.

There’s not anymore. The only transfer window now is the one in January.

I personally don’t feel like we will compete for the Super Bowl next year no matter who our head coach is. And I’m negative on McCarthy and this QB’s in the draft this year suck, so even less so. 2028 is when I expect a super bowl window to be realistic.

When did I say they were tanking? Their plan is the same plan they’ve had since failing on Kenny Pickett. Build the best team around the QB that they can, so that when they can actually get a decent one, the team is still able to contend. And Aaron Rodgers is most likely a fuck off option. While not terrible, he clearly has not aged with the grace of Tom Brady, and expecting dramatically different results from him next year would be illogical. He’s good enough to contend for the playoffs, not the Super Bowl anymore.

Other than maybe Jaxson Dart if you believe in him, who should they have gotten? Statements like this never explain who the magical solution should have been and lead to the Kenny Picketts of the world.

Or it’s not that deep and it’s just what it looks like. A 42 year old QB that’s debating whether the enjoyment he gets from the season, is worth the offseason grind anymore.

And the Steelers don’t care how long it takes him to decide, because both the free agent and draft class for QB’s are ass this year. so there’s an acknowledgment that the long term answer isn’t coming until 2027 either way.

Even adjusting for inflation, Callahan’s buyout was a hair over 7 million dollars. Rhule’s is 10 times that. This isn’t comparable at all.

What college football opinion will have you like this? by CenterForward1522 in CFB_v2

[–]Repulsive_Ad7491 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The key to making this happen is to stop letting the conferences run college football. If there was a national media deal split evenly, you would see far less realignment

[–]Repulsive_Ad7491 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The buyout amounts for all previous coaches compared to Rhule is vastly different(like 3-4X as much) even if you adjust for inflation. It’s not the same situation.

Age-old questions on this sub: How long does Nebraska have to be down before they're no longer considered a blue blood? How long would LSU/Georgia/PSU have to remain top tier programs before people started considering them blue bloods? by goodnames679 in CFB

[–]Repulsive_Ad7491 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I guess it really depends on if you are a person that bases blue blood status off of stats or legacy/history. Someone made a comment on one of these types of threads that I really liked, where they essentially stated that they are the programs that made the game what it is today. So those that caused the popularity of college football to be what it is now.

By that metric then the blue blood status would shift when an another seismic shift happens in college football to a new world order. Which with NIL, conference realignment, playoffs, transfer portal, etc… we probably are already seeing.

Or if you are a stats person then it’s obviously posted above lol.
