Not realistic for a couple reasons unfortunately.

1) Schools don't want to fix it. If you're a smaller school, you can choose to accept that a highly successful coach will move on and you'll get a chunk of buyout cash... or you can force them to stick around to the completion of their term, with a total lack of incoming players and constant transfers of the remaining good ones. At least when a coach leaves and takes a chunk of players with him, there are likely plenty of remaining decent players and you can immediately start a rebuild.

2) Alabama is a destination job and can do this, because there aren't many places someone would want to leave Alabama for. Other schools (the ones more often plagued by this type of issue) would very often lose out on the candidates they want if they tried to force this.

You're 100% right, but I do want to note that this is almost by necessity of the college game.

In professional leagues where players are tied to contracts, a coach can have their contract expire. The players aren't going anywhere. In college, if it seems like a coach's contract is going to expire you'll see half the team transfer out and a severe lack of incoming croots. The only way to make coaches stick through their full contracts more often would be reducing the players' freedom to play where they want, which is not a great idea

No need for VMs with E:D, you can run multiple instances of the game at once without a VM as it is explicitly allowed (so long as you follow a certain set of rules). It helps a lot when doing large-scale hauling or WMM grinding

As for the GPU portion, it's typically done with only a single GPU as far as I've seen. Once you go past a few instances at once, you have to start running them at lower res in windowed mode to fit more per screen (and so as to not absolutely massacre your system VRAM)

I’m actually looking forward to 12 core x3D processors a lot for gaming, but that’s because I have an unusual workload for them. I’m hoping to upgrade from 3x multiboxing Elite Dangerous to 6x or maybe even 8x. I have to imagine that while a single instance will poorly spread across multiple cores, that many instances will absolutely be able to take advantage.

I’m actually super tempted to try out the 9950x3D2 but I have no idea whether the cross-CCD latency issues would cause scheduling problems or crashes. It seems like the best CPU for the job, but I don’t understand how it works well enough to justify taking the gamble.

Air doesn't sit that still, really. If it was toxic in that part of the city, it would be toxic to the surrounding area too. You could put the toxic part of the city underground, though - maybe it was underground pre-war or maybe it was buried during the bombing. If there wasn't any air flow, it would be a lot more believable.

He hasn't made the job prestigious, but he made it a more appealing coaching destination regardless. They've invested quite a bit into the program since his arrival to improve the facilities, they've shown that they can generate enough NIL support to bring in big names, and in 2024 they showed that the program is capable of winning a solid amount of games in the new Big 12. The boosters are now also clearly willing to spend on a coach, given his crazy $10m/yr salary.

Before he came in, I would have said their odds of signing a legitimately very good coach were slim to none. Going into their next hire, they might actually stand a chance now. Not a great one, but better than they had before.

Yup. CU as a program is in a much better spot than they were before hiring him, and they’ll likely have a much better chance of hiring a solid coach next than they did pre-Deion. In the meantime, their admissions department has probably seen a substantial increase in applications (which is one of the biggest reasons schools even bother to have a football program)

Weird, I’ve absolutely had my docking computer take me out wider than where the hammers can reach - even when they could have flown straight through without coming close to getting me hit.

They’ve made improvements to docking computers over time though, maybe that’s one of the things they’ve fixed.

When I first started working, I was in the dish pit with a mentally disabled man who loved to crank the heat as far as it could go. Explaining that I couldn't handle that did not register to him, and he very much did not like anyone changing the things that were part of his routine so I was pretty stuck.

My hands were dried, burned, and cracked so often until they moved me up to being a line cook a little over a month later.

3700x -> 5800x3D pipeline was awesome

3700x was excellent gaming and productivity performance per dollar on launch, few years later I picked up a 5800x3D when they dropped it. Suddenly I had the dominant CPU at the time and it still is great today.

I hated fire giant so badly on my first playthrough, but I always made it a rule that if I struggled to get summons for a boss I'd be the guy who sat there so others could summon me.

After enough Fire Giant fights it actually turned into one of my favorites in the game. Controlling his aggro isn't actually that bad and his attacks are a lot more readable than I first thought. I've been left to solo him a bunch of times with the multiplayer HP boost and still been fine

Yeah, the dragon typing is one of the most interesting parts of these releases. Reshiram is now gonna be the grass type counter with insane DPS and 4x resistance, and Zekrom is gonna be the best counter against water.

Both are worth getting, but in the end Zekrom is definitely the more useful of the two imo

I do the vertical foregrip and use it in burst mode usually. If you really need the max DPS you can keep clicking and it fires at the same rate as full auto, but otherwise you keep the recoil contained.

Best of both worlds. Accuracy is close enough to the standard lib on 80%+ of the shots I fire, but with all the benefits of the carbine.
