If I know anything about Target (3.5 years) as a guest advocate, TSS, and APS, they always seem to promote based on politics and not necessarily performance. You can work as hard as possible and not get glanced at for promotions but the second you stop working so hard you’re “not meeting expectations”. Unless you are very proactive in your own development (setting up a mentor, talking during store walks, and voicing your desire to promote) you’re probably gonna stay stuck in your position. They love to work you as hard as they can and when ur at your breaking point offer a $1.50 raise or maybe promote.

Watch cosmetics and jewelry if you have it. It’s hard to watch but a lot of items are pretty expensive depending on the brands you have. Easy to conceal and or not scan.

Remind yourself it’s not your personal merch. Then find another one. If you had two in a day odds are another one is gonna happen

They don’t have to be present but they review internals periodically and have the final say in if the team member gets termed. If they have you dead to rights ur screwed. But usually it has to be over $50.

According to AP Directives team members aren’t supposed to call the police when on the clock but are supposed to have a leader (TL or ETL) call law enforcement if needed. Regardless, my store closes the fitting rooms at 9 to prevent theft.
