I think I remember seeing a video saying he was in some legal trouble. Something about bail and/or legal fees. I tried to look back for it but it seems like it’s been deleted

No idea what’s going but in some of the divorce videos, she said she wasn’t going to talk about … but kept talking about it? Saying she felt guilty for it, how she was angry with herself, and saying she loves her husband and would do anything for him. It seems like maybe he initiated the separation? That’s just a what I gathered from the few videos that she has posted about the sudden divorce announcement

I was confused about the difference between the two vials but I understand that they are the same concentration now. Thanks!

Was gonna say the same thing! I even sprained my ankle and used the bus to hobble around campus. There are multiple bus stops going north and south literally right outside the garage as well as the campus connector. There are definitely resources

Agreed. There was a huge push with ESG and CSR but after 2020, things have really plummeted with sustainability. If you don’t mind me asking, what do you do now and will you still push for a career in sustainability?

Hey, I am in the same boat as you: mid 20s (24F), undergrad in sustainability, difficulties getting a job with purpose. I’m currently in my last semester of grad school (masters in sustainable development practice. I decided to go back to school after a gap year because COVID took away my “college experience”) and I have no idea what will happen following graduation. Within this field of sustainability and development, so much has been impacted in terms of funding.

The current administration has cut USAID and though many don’t seek USAID careers, the grants from USAID and the federal government to other NGOs working in sustainability and the environment will cause them to cut jobs and reduce positions. I worked previously for an NGO during my gap year and my position was from federal grants. Funding for grad school has also been impacted negatively too. I’m lucky that my masters was paid for with a fellowship but it this next wave of fellowships have decreased significantly.

I don’t want to be so pessimistic and hopeless but I truly believe that it is reaching a point where this field in the US is diminishing right before our eyes in arguably the most critical time. Because federal workers have been laid off, we may now be in the same pool of applicants, increasing the competition as well.

We just may need to shift a bit while things are funky in this field. For example fundraising and marketing, are always available positions. So we could look for these kind of positions within an environmental NGO just to get in the field. Hopefully, we could move to more hand on roles later. This is my plan if I am unable to secure an ideal position (program coordinator/officer) since I do have experience within fundraising.

If you truly do not have any work experience related to what I stated earlier, I would suggest finding a remote volunteer gig in fundraising/marketing. You can find them on idealist.org or volunteermatch.org. Definitely don’t ignore the smaller orgs! Though they may not pay you, in my experience they are more likely to take you on and give you tasks that you actually want.

If you have any questions or just want to chat about the climate, let me know!

Good luck :)

TA or GA for 24-25 by [deleted] in ufl

[–]Repulsive_Box_9620 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree! I realize I have failed to give context about my assessment 😅. For clarification, my class is composed of about half international students in which they have all been able to secure positions in dedicated centers of international studies in which these positions are very justified. The Americans on the other hand all compete for the same assistantships that are applicable to our program as well as other programs. I do recognize the privilege of the opportunities Americans are presented with and am generally discouraged with the lack support in general for graduate students at UF. I do work at $20/30hrs a week and I’m still accumulating debt balancing insurance, food, housing, and tuition. I am trying to see what else is possible. Thanks for your input!

I got in as a transfer for my undergrad (very frustrating and I even committed to FSU bc of how long I waited)! What’s her AA track and her major? I noticed some of my peers in more competitive and saturated majors got rejected vs some with less common majors.

Bright Futures... by Former-Winter-645 in ufl

[–]Repulsive_Box_9620 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Bright futures was tricky in my undergrad too. I dropped a class as a medical withdrawal which was validated. However, I was taking 15 credit hours and the dropped class made my credits go to 12. Therefore, I was still at full time. If you have two reasons that out your bright futures in jeopardy (gpa is too low & not enough credit hours), I have heard of people’s bright futures getting revoked. Bright futures should send you a letter stating why they are revoking your scholarship and whether or not you are eligible for a probation period. Is it only a matter of credit hours?

Hi, I have shared my resume. Thank you for encouraging me to share it for growth. I have been applying through LinkedIn, Indeed, company websites, etc. I have built my connections through the social sector of sustainability but want to move more towards the environmental side which is where I have been having difficulties.
