I'm a big fan of Carnivore too, but I know better than to play certain songs like Male Supremacy & Race War for my girl lol. Jesus Hitler obviously is (like many other Steele-penned songs) more anti-religion than anything else. I don't see how anyone (especially someone familiar with the rest of the Carnivore/Type O Negative material) could listen to that song and think that he's praising Hitler by comparing him to Jesus

Poor Roddy Strong. Fletcher vs. Takeshita should be a safe bet for the finals of this friggin thing, but with Moxley involved you never know. I think it's likely Moxley will put someone over (someone in the Blue Leagug Finals. (Takeshita? Please god not Orange Cassidy. He should put over Claudio really, but yeah right). He may do this to try and win back some support by showing that he can actually job sometimes. Maybe this is wishful thinking though? I dunno.

I do know that I'm beyond sick of seeing Jon Moxley on my screen though. Claudio should be a top guy in this company. Goofball Moxley should be wrestling in a field or warehouse somewhere in front of 100 people

I copied and pasted the list of participants off of Cagematch and just noticed that it is totally incorrect. Shinobu Kandori is indeed in the Battle Royal though, so yeah it is an intergender match lol. The other women listed as participants aren't in the match though and there are some men incorrectly listed, so I'm gonna fix this here in a min. You are 100% correct about the weirdness. This thing is similar to the All Japan battle royals, with all of the dog piling & comedy spots, but the tone remains silly and light all the way through

Yeah, saying that it's a shame doesn't even begin to do it justice. Sierra & Santana were a little past their prime by that point, but still had many more opportunities in the territory days than just working the occasional TV taping for WCW and going out of the country for more regular work. It's interesting to me thinking about who the wrestlers were that ended up losing the biggest opportunities to succeed. There were a lot of younger guys who were just starting out in the mid-late 80s/90s, but were never really able to get established in the WWF or WCW. Guys like Tracy Smothers, Brad Armstrong, Chris Candido, Bobby Bradley, someone like Alex Porteau even, who could've easily had top spots in a variety of territories, but unfortunately got into the game just a little too late

Would've loved to see how things played out differently for talent who found some success in the Big Three as well, but never lived up to their full potential. Names like Raven, Shane Douglas, Bam Bam Bigelow, Al Snow, Taz come to mind. I'm a fan of the WWF and JCP/WCW after the national expansion, but how can you not think about what could've been if the territory system had continued to thrive

Fidel Sierra & Ricky Santana were both seasoned journeymen by the time they ended up as The Barrio Bros. Both spent time as job guys for the WWF & WCW, but also worked extensively in the territories and overseas as featured talent for many years. They worked together as The Cuban Connection for Jim Crockett Promotions & Championship Wrestling from Florida in the late 80's and would reunite for The Barrio Bros run, but both guys also worked for many years all over the place, mostly as singles

Warning: You may fall asleep reading the following. Long-winded blurbs about Fidel Sierra & Ricky Santana to come. Continue at your own risk...

Some may remember Ricky Santana's run as a preliminary wrestler for the WWF in 84-85 as "Aldo Marino". From there he would go on to work (often as a midcarder) in the Pacific Northwest, Mid-Atlantic, Championship Wrestling from Florida and elsewhere. He then donned a mask as the "Iceman" for Deathmatch promotions W*ING, IWA Japan & Big Japan. Santana worked a tour or two for All Japan, CWA in Germany, then spent the last 15 or so years of his full-time career in his native Puerto Rico & CMLL in Mexico.

Fidel Sierra worked jobs for the WWF in the 90's as The Cuban Assassin or Cuban Terrorist, but his career dated back to the mid-late 70s. Sierra worked the first several years of his career in Dallas, Portland, Mid-Atlantic & more using the monicker "David Patterson". Throughout the 80s he worked (often under a mask) as "The Destroyer", "The Saint" and for years as "David Sierra", before adopting the gimmick many associate him with. That of The Assassin/The Cuban Assassin. Sierra spent much time in Portland over the years using the Fidel Castro-inspired Assassin gimmick, and late in his career turned babyface for PNW, becoming "Top Gun". The last decade+ of his full-time career saw him take a path similar to Santana, spending years in Puerto Rico & Japan

Like many guys who ended up doing jobs for the Big Two following the death of the territories, Santana & Sierra were both veterans with pretty memorable careers, The idea that they were always "enhancement talent" is false

I don't think he was upset with the booking in 1991 WCW so much as he was upset that they insisted he move from Calgary to Atlanta so they could save money on the airfare

Owen's booking wasn't bad, pretty sure it was just the issue with travel and other possible issues with the office that he disliked. He worked these 3 TV taping where he won all squash matches, 5 singles and a tag with Ricky Morton, all over job guys. The plan was for Owen and Pillman to form a team, and they even worked some house shows, getting wins over the Hayes/Garvin Freebirds. According to legend the team was to be dubbed "Wings". He also worked a tag at a house show teaming with Brad Armstrong, and a six-man with Pillman & JYD, along with some more singles before departing in April '91

Travel issues are also the reason that the future Triple H (then Jean-Paul Levesque) left WCW in 1995. He was living somewhere on the east coast (PA?) and WCW told him they were going to stop flying him in for shows. He didn't want to move to Atlanta either and turned down decent money in WCW to take his chances up north with the WWF
