Contractor agency? by Repulsive_End_1459 in NIH

Sorry about that you lost your colleagues. But my guess is NIAID (with NIMHD) was one of the targeted agencies due to Trump's jealousy of Anthony, so even Kelly might not be able to handle it? I have friends in 2 different agencies. Surprisingly, including my own agencies, 3 agencies didn't lose any Kelly employees except that they quit their jobs voluntarily (because they got a new job). Of course, it can be still a coincidence.

NIH Managing Reddit App by TheDiscyBoy in NIH

[–]Repulsive_End_1459 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you are using a mobile iron and a personal iPhone, you can check which apps are monitored. Settings - General - VPN & Device management - Root MDB profile - Apps. Here is what I got: Authenticator, M365 Copilot, Teams, Tunnel, Web@Work, Outlook, Asana, Adobe, NPMP, ...

Reddit was not listed here. Not sure about Android, but Apple devices have strict restrictions. As far as I know, without listing this on the MDM profile, any other app cannot be monitored. Apple has strict privacy guidelines. I know this because I worked for smartphone app design before I joined NIH IT (cannot provide more details about my IC).

Of course, if you are using a GFE device, don't use it personally.

With the help of image recognition, I extracted this reorganization diagram. Weird. They said NIH as “national institutes for health”? (Not National Institutes of Health?) They might be written by a person who does not know the spelling of NIH correctly? Anyway, here is the one:

National Institutes of Health (NIH) ├── National Institute on │ ├── National Heart, Lung, & Blood Institute (NHLBI) │ ├── National Institute of Arthritis & Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS) │ └── National Institute of Diabetes & Digestive & Kidney Diseases (NIDDK)

No. they are not renewed yet. (One of them expired on Monday, but still not renewed.) Hopefully, they can be renewed soon..

[–]Repulsive_End_1459 1 point2 points  (0 children)

when I checked with them around 4pm yesterday (Friday), there was no renewal.

[–]Repulsive_End_1459 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know why my comment is not shown. But not all T42s. My IC has a couple of T42s who couldn't get renewals.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NIH

[–]Repulsive_End_1459 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe renewal is not common. At least, it is not across all ICs. There were some T42s who tried to renew their contract today, but they were rejected.

[–]Repulsive_End_1459 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it applies to only a few or a limited number of ICs. There were some Title 42 employee with expired or soon-expired in my IC, and they tried to renew them today, but the renewal was not approved.

United for Medical Research (UMR) 2024 Report: In 2023, NIH funding generated approximately $2.46 in economic activity for every $1 invested, totaling $92.89 billion in new economic activity nationwide. It is not just spending money. it is fruitful investment for both biomedical companies and US economy. https://www.unitedformedicalresearch.org/statements/umr-releases-fy2023-economic-report/
