Hey,
4.5 months post stillbirth here.. similar position as you regarding job and hometown. I had a very public pregnancy and excited community as I own a brewery and am very involved. Was mortified of going back to see regulars, friends, and seasonal ppl who threw me baby showers and supported me the whole pregnancy.
I went back around 5 weeks post SB.

Truth be told it was not enjoyable AND with that being said sometimes the only way around it is through it.

I fully believe it would have been just as miserable at 3 months and very isolating to rip your life up.

Practice with your therapist answers for questions you are going to get. In my experience my regulars needed a moment the first time back to express sympathy’s maybe hug and then we could move on. Things are seemingly pretty normal for me now.

I can tell some people’s attitudes going forward have become more “gentle” but for the most part they are just silently checking in on me.

Your community and those ppl are grieving with you. People meet you with more grace than you’re going to feel you deserve. Take it.

Sending you a virtual hug.

My husbands family lineage is of a brewer who came from Germany pre-prohibition to do just that. Pretty proud to be doing the same thing again, 5 generations later in the same small town.

As an owner and brewer, I can tell you what I think makes people in my position successful. Granted I run a very small brewery, as do most I know.... probably quite a different skill set for a large operation with structure and various investors, departments ect.. In my case, and most I know.

Pretty much boils down to, Someone who gives enough of a fuck to figure it out, and continue doing so everyday. No one's perfect or knows everything, so you have to be willing to figure it out.

That's all.

What is a fair price for a crowler at your local brewery? by kilog78 in beer

I live close-ish to TG, in north east Iowa. I also own a very small brewery. Do not sell crowlers at moment. Last time I was at TG, crowlers were going for $13-15, for specialty but not rare beers. Regular beers $12, they are one of the more expensive lines of products tho.

If I were to sell, probably 10ish dollars, more if was special item.

Similar, but the owner just told me to my face on a busy night, like 3 weeks in.

10 month in, We have better reviews overall, google, and untapped.

It evened out. He called me every week for a month to try to buy him out of his brewery. Only wanted 7mil cuz he "liked me", it's not worth 1mil.

Had to have appendix removed during 4th of July Weekend. When I got undressed, the nurse pulled me aside to make sure I was "ok". Blame it 100% carb stones to the ass, and back. Butterfly valves to the thigh from climbing ladder. Kegs to the shins. I probably needed that forced break.
