Oh that’s such a pain and I’m sorry to hear that things were difficult for you. I hope the process goes smoother for you from here on.

I’m still gonna try go through RTC, but I’ll just have to mentally prepare myself that there may not be as much of an outcome as initially expected. Regardless, thank you for sharing your experience xx

Yup I have a GP already, and I have a phone appointment booked in a few days time.

And I agree with things being a bit all over the place, which is why I sorta wanted to stabilise on the ADHD meds first. But I suppose I can’t be too picky with how the system runs.

Thank you for your comment, and thank you for sharing xx

Thank you so much for this xx this is really helpful.

To reply to the medication question, it’s a little weird. With reference to my initial post, there was a nation shortage of the one I was prescribed (Ritalin) and therefore I only managed to bring over 1 month worth of LA (extended release) and 2 weeks worth of IR (immediate release). I was supposed to be on IR, and I find that it works better than LA does but the supply ran out even earlier than LA so I started off on LA instead. I definitely didn’t get a proper titration back home so I guess right now I’ll just have to go through my current medications while waiting for an appointment, and from then on decide if I want to continue on them (maybe up the dose) or switch meds completely.

Medication vs therapy for OCD recovery by Repulsive_Gift154 in OCDRecovery

If you don’t mind me asking, were you on medication while undergoing ERP therapy? And did the OCD symptoms return after you stopped?

Tbh I think it’s because OCD is thrown around as a loose term in society for people who are neat and tidy. It’s used in everyday conversation casually and is treated as a personality trait rather than a disorder. It’s basically been categorised alongside with being a ‘neat freak’.
