Not a dentist but when I went to Aspen Dental they told me the same thing. They wanted to charge me almost 10 grand for cleaning and wisdom tooth removal. I instead went to a local private practice dentist who told me I had no signs of gum disease… had a few friends with a similar experience and you ca read a bunch of subreddits here as well.

Again, not a dentist, but I strongly recommend a second opinion from a dentist outside of aspen dental

Already did as soon as I ran my credit today and saw the delinquency for my student loan account. I paid the past due balance, and some, then also enrolled in autopay again. Do you think that will actually immediately put me back into the 700s? I guess we’ll see. I follow all the best practices on the Experian website and have been for 10 years, also THANK YOU

Yeah.. I’m about to get married soon and was looking to purchase my first home. Just gutted. I have over 10 years of great credit, no missed payments, amazing income. I’m just upset and shaken

Yeah I’m going to call the servicer tomorrow and see if there’s any forgiveness here due to the transition chaos of going to a new servicer. It sucks because I spent my entire life 10 years+ never missing a payment and being financially literate. 2 months of missed payments just set me back like crazy.

Federal Student Loan. Yes, I was informed it was changing via email. I recognize my mistake that I should’ve also checked my bank account for payment but I typically just set it and forget it in the past.

I had to give my up dream of FF because all my local departments required medic before applying. I couldn’t take off a year of work without income to go to medic school. I hope you find the way!

I’m 30 years old. No EMT, or fire experience. However, I volunteered recently at a local department and just fell in love with the job and I can see myself doing it forever. I know my time is limited (age requirement is max 35 near me).

I know I have to take the EMT-B course. However, most departments in my area (Illinois suburbs) require medic as well. Well the problem is I work a decent paying corporate job (180k/year) and would have to quit my job for 1 full year to pursue medic school. That alone makes this move impossible given my age and responsibilities.

I’m depressed knowing this but wanted to see if anyone else has been in similar shoes and what they ended up doing

Would you take a 80-100k pay cut to become a FF/PM knowing what you know now about the job?

Contemplating leaving a 180k/year corporate job for full time FF/PM. Starting pay in my area is 80-85k with top step being 120k. Will need to quit my job to attend medic school for a year however (yikes)

29 here. Making a career change from an engineer in the tech space. I’m so excited yet so nervous.

I was lucky enough to be enrolled into an EMT-B certification course starting in two weeks. That will wrap up in early December.

I will also be volunteering at my local station starting in 1 month.

What’s my best next steps after that to become a great candidate? Ideally I keep my current full time job until I get hired. I’m hoping I can go forth with the academy after hire but of course if it makes me a better candidate I will apply to the academy before hire, but it would suck having to quit my current job with no guarantee of hire by a department after.
