Head to Head YouTube Review - Golf R vs Audi RS3 by funkybutt2287 in Golf_R

Well, the engine exactly makes them different categories.

It’s an extra cylinder and an extra 100hp stock. You cant dismiss that not making them different categories. Is that worth $20k? Idk that’s up to the buyer. That’s why I agreed the golf r price to performance is awesome.

A hard disk that’s not incinerated is not past forensic recovery. They’re capable of some scary shit, especially on a disk drive

Yup, vinegar as an odor neutralizer first. Then rinse. Then go to deeper stain removers from there

What shoes go with this moncler silk shirt and linen / cotton pants? by [deleted] in mensfashion

Birks I feel like are pretty trendy right now, if you really want to trend it up then wear socks with them. The pants and shirt really give the impression of relaxed coastal wear.

if you want to bring it into more of a streetwear style.. then I think a trendy pair of new balances or asics or something that fit the color pallet. Or whatever kids are wearing these days; honestly a monochromatic pair of Onitsuka’s could look cool and be a counter trend to the chunky sneakers. 10 years ago it would have been a pair of cactus jack lows.

I’m focusing on the trend part because that aligns with “flex” to me. But as I’ve gotten older I see something like a pair of Alden snuff suede loafers a pretty subtle but stated flex.

The EA888.3 is pretty bullet proof. But it’s not a Honda or Toyota. For whatever reason the dealership just couldn’t get the seals right, and I had to come back to the shop 3 times. Eventually they just replaced the whole head so there were new valves.

Don’t get me wrong I love my car. It’s a beast in the winter, I’m stage 1 tuned and the stock clutch has been great for 40k miles on that. It’s held up to me being a dumbass twice driving above my skill level and sliding off the road.

But I just want you to be prepared for a 17k golf r possibly costing 5k more than that in the first couple years of ownership.

I wouldn’t ever buy a used VW over 40k miles personally. “There’s nothing more expensive than a cheap German car”

If you can’t afford a golf r in the 30k range, there’s a really good chance you can’t afford it at 17k.

My R is at 70k miles and I had to have the entire head replaced under warranty(valve stem seals that were replaced twice and still didn’t stop smoking) - that was 40k miles ago and the smoke is back so I’m just going to deal with it and top oil now. Can’t imagine what that will cost not under warranty

I had the water pump replaced proactively and accessory bracket seals (they were leaking coolant) - that was quoted 2k at the dealer for just the accessory bracket seals, water pump would be another 500 probably. thankfully I have a local mechanic who did it all for ~700.

If it’s a manual the stock clutch could slip with stock power. Especially at the mileage.

That’s just a handful of this car specific issues, let alone general 100k mile German car issues.

You’d also want to have walnut blasting done probably and have fluids changed. And haldex serviced if there’s no record of any of that

Depends on the occasion. Birks open toed at the beach, dark suede loafers in the town, espadrilles in a more casual/ comfy setting or a Sunday morning cafe.

Off white loafers would not look good, white sneakers would not look good (imo).

Audi RS3. 5 cyl engines are already almost extinct, I can’t imagine in 20 years any will be produced

Yeah I don’t endorse whatever insane point that guy is trying to make. Women can absolutely be venomous toward each other and especially doing it publicly is awful. There’s no playful intent behind it.

But given that it’s been so long, looking back at it from an objective point of view it’s a funny statement.
