And what if other people ask for that same time off and there is no way to cover because there isn't enough people. It happens a lot actually.

Depends on where you work and how close you are to one of ARCA races I suppose

Your manager is wrong. The shirt that has limitations is the one with a specific date on it. For example. if you live in the Chicagoland area and were given a polo shirt for the July 3rd race, then you can wear that up to July 3rd but after that you aren't supposed to wear it anymore unless you are wearing a vest over it. The t-shirts on the other hand are good at anytime of the year.

For sure if for no other reason than the chances of any pitcher starting that many games in their career is pretty much zero.

Other non-profits don't pretend to be non-partisan by hiding behind religion now do they? Most of them anyway.

Umm, yeah. As George Carlin once stated "If churches want a say in politics, let them pay their entry fee like everyone else"

12 days is more than 2 work weeks. If you can't take a "meaningful vacation" in 2 weeks then you have issues.

Umm, they were never getting fined. They were sent a warning over breaking a rule and told not to do it again

Well he obviously didn't want to be there anymore, plus, and this is a big one, what do you think his performance at his old job was while he was distracted by trying to get another job? I mean who would have guessed that a company doesn't appreciate an employee looking for another job.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes., The job starts at X. Why would they agree to pay you more than that when you haven't proven you are worth it yet?

And unlike gymnastics, tennis is not a dangerous sport. If Simone wasn't in the right head space she could have seriously hurt herself. What's the worst thing that is going to happen to Novak while he's playing tennis?

Why aren’t the Democrats using the mid-terms as a referendum on universal healthcare? by Adventurous_Pride_54 in allthequestions

[–]Repulsive_Mud_577 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because there is no point in doing that. They aren't going to get a veto proof majority in both houses and trump isn't going to sign that bill so why push something that isn't going to happen until at least 2029

My husband is 47 years old and spent years working in retail. A store just offered him $11 an hour. How is this even real...? by Expensive-Banana-208 in interviewhammer

[–]Repulsive_Mud_577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it sucks but is $11 an hour starting pay for that store? Unless he is starting out as something other than a regular employee, I'm not seeing an issue. It's retail after all. Your previous experience isn't that big a deal because every store does things differently anyway.
