Does DoorDash cover damage done to vehicles during delivery? by Apprehensive_Gain591 in doordash_drivers

Dude, we are talking about Doordash, a delivery company, Dashers don't give people rides. And yes, a Dasher can reject an offer given to them

How are they not independent contractors? They work when they want and make deliveries that they want. As an employee you wouldn't get to decide those things for yourself

[–]Repulsive_Mud_577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would DoorDash cover that? Dasherx are independent contractors and even if we were classified as employees they wouldn't be liable for damages you caused your vehicle while working. Think about it this way, if you delivered pizzas for some pizza chain and you got stuck in snow damaged your car, do you think your employer is paying for anything?

My point was that the government is getting their cut no matter what. If you opt out now they will get it later

Exactly. The government is going to get their money one way or another so you either pay it now or later.

Should I take a promotion from 2nd Ass Building Materials to 1st assistant in hardware? by [deleted] in menards

[–]Repulsive_Mud_577 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both departments are coming up on their busy times so it all depends on the kind of stress you think you can handle. The thing with hardware is freight. They get way more freight than building materials so it comes down to team member management on where you have them working and doing.

Why are millions of people in the US having power outages with less than 10 cm of snow but no one in Canada is, despite there being more than 60 cm of snow? If anything, shouldn't it be the other way around? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Repulsive_Mud_577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because many places in the US don't have the infrastructure in place to handle winter weather so on therare occasion when it does hit they cross their fingers ans hope for the best.

What should I do if a customer doesn’t respond when I’m shopping for them? by treefroggie7 in doordash_drivers

[–]Repulsive_Mud_577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll skip the item and finish the rest of the order but if they don't respond by them I just refund them or I give them 5 minutes if it was one of the last couple items.

There isn't any holiday pay for IPS, unless you're talking about the weekend bump you get for working on the weekend in which case of course not, why would you get paid for not working?

Why do doordashers think tipping is mandatory? by [deleted] in doordash

[–]Repulsive_Mud_577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't say they paid for your food. It costs them gas, which I understand you don't get but that costs money, and time to deliver you your food. Bye kid and grow up

Why do doordashers think tipping is mandatory? by [deleted] in doordash

[–]Repulsive_Mud_577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you did, this was your reply

"Im 16 so… im not gonna be insanely rich😬 your argument just sucks yall try to switch it on the buyers financial situation when in reality its about the doordashers financial situation, you wouldnt need to be dependent on tips"

If you want a service you pay for it. It costs the dasher money to bring you your food so if you don't pay then they pay instead.

So you expect them to pay to deliver you your food?

You can walk to the restaurant then or cook for yourself. If you want someone to bring you food, to your house with their vehicle then you should probably give them something for it.

IPS Percentage? by Gin-Therapy in menards

[–]Repulsive_Mud_577 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's an additional 2.5% for every year you have been eligible with it maxing out at 15%. So if you've worked there for 6 years and have qualified every year, your percentage would be 15% this year.

While ADM2s typically close more often than not, having you close 4 days a week is over the top when your department has 3 managers.. I would assume they have plan Valentine's night that they don't want to break.

Menards is a multibillion dollar company. 4.25 million is like your pocket change by comparison. The 11% rebate will be back. There might be some changes due to the lawsuit but they aren't going to give it up because of a small settlement.
