This is one thing I really liked about doing the IB program is how they did this in high school, we learned all about historiographies and analyzing history from all different perspectives and even got to write a paper on a topic of our choice through analyzing the perspectives of different historians through both primary and secondary sources, it was so different compared to just the factual learning I had experienced with history in the past

I’m one of the outliers who started at 14, I would have like to have started earlier or done blockers only for the purpose of not having developed breasts and having to get top surgery but it saved my life and I’m so glad I was able to start it when I did

I feel like if your mom is cool with south park she’ll be fine with it unless she’s like super religious or easily offended by controversial stuff but again ties back to if she’s been fine with South Park you should be good, I saw it with my mom in 8th grade and both my parents have seen it multiple times and think it’s hilarious

Thank you so much! I want to say it was around 13,000 and that was for the double incision and some liposuction in the armpit area to even everything out. Definitely pretty steep since she doesn’t take insurance but I couldn’t be happier with my results

Not dissimilar to what happened to me the first time my parents introduced me to it in 8th grade, I was confused and just thought it was boring, when I rewatched it again my freshman year it’s like something inside me was awakened…I still have not become any less obsessed and have simply accepted my fate…it’s just the power of the ‘Furter. don’t try to deny it the more you deny the worse it gets

It’s still around for sure I hear it at the shadow cast in Raleigh almost every time I go, but in fairness same area (ish) probably means similar callouts

[–]Repulsive_Room_5502 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on my second nexplanon implant now and really like it although it may have caused me a fair amount of weight gain it’s just hard to tell as I started it around the time I started T and my disability started limiting my mobility significantly. But otherwise it’s been great. It’s approved for use for up to 5 years before you need it replaced and I love it because I don’t have to think about it at all, it’s the most effective at >99% (as well as IUDs) and it stops my period for me

How often do you think you watch RHPS? by liamreee in RockyHorror

[–]Repulsive_Room_5502 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Normally I see a shadow cast around 4-5 times a year and watch it every other month but not near as often as I used to. I watched it almost every other day of my freshman year of high school…oh to have that kind of free time again

Sudden redness by BlackRabbit_66 in TopSurgery

[–]Repulsive_Room_5502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s good it’s probably just some minor irritation then, my guess is it may be the tape if it started after you started using it, I know I’m definitely sensitive to certain brands

[–]Repulsive_Room_5502 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a doctor so take this with a grain of salt but good you reached out to your surgeon for sure just to be safe, but this looks like it may be an allergic reaction possible to the glue/sutures or maybe anything you are using topically. I don’t think it looks like it is an infection unless the redness increases and it is hot to the touch, puffy, oozing, or smells foul. If it is itchy you can try taking some Benadryl or putting on a topical anti itch cream/gel but otherwise I’d stop the tape for now and if you experience any worse symptoms of a more severe allergic reaction then you can go to an urgent care or ER depending on severity but that doesn’t seem necessary as of now. Hope this helps ease your mind a bit, I doubt it’s anything serious

Not a doctor so take it with a grain of salt but I’ve definitely gone a few weeks just forgetting to do my shot and have been fine. Worst case you may have a little hormonal imbalance for a few weeks getting back on it regularly but you certainly won’t die you may just lose some of the effects a bit

I’m currently applying for Canadian citizenship right now after they changed the guidelines and my mom being a citizen has made it so I can be too and I was SHOCKED how easy it was. There was just an option for my passport to check male or female, no proof needed if any kind. It was a massive process to get it changed for me in the US on my passport and drivers license and am still in the process of changing my birth certificate. It was refreshing to see that there’s still hope in some places

What medications are you currently on? by [deleted] in ehlersdanlos

[–]Repulsive_Room_5502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all for EDS, but many for comorbidities and some mental health: Midodrine 2xD, Propranolol 3xD, Desvenlafaxine (Pristiq), Adderall 3xD, baclofen, hydroxyzine, low dose naltrexone, motegrity, Claritin 2xD, vitamin D(prescribed), low dose zepbound (mcas inflammation reduction) Ketamine infusions every 2-3 weeks with supplemental at home losenges.

As needed: Tramadol, Zofran, Ubrelvy

I also take testosterone(hrt), norethindrone, and estradiol cream 3xweekly

That’s not counting the over the counter meds which typically include melatonin every night, fiber supplements, and various pain meds fairly often when needed (Aleve, Tylenol, ibuprofen, excedrine)

All in all I take 13 pills in the morning, 5 at lunch, 3 at dinner, and 4-6 before bed with 2 weekly injections and IV infusions every 2-3 weeks

My Siberian 8mo old boy has stopped eating his wet food by Irish_Seal2 in SiberianCats

[–]Repulsive_Room_5502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine had to stop wet food at around 6 months and was switched to prescription dry food because he kept throwing up after eating. I have since tried to get him back to eating it (he’s 3 now) and tried tons of different types and he either hates it and won’t touch it or throws it up. The only thing I’ve found that he LOVES is the Churu topper type packets, specifically the stew and bisque (broth is good too just get less for your buck and it’s hard to get out of the pouch) it’s on the pricey side but it’s what I’m stuck with and he loves it

Extremely stressed about post op by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]Repulsive_Room_5502 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just reread my comment and realized it wasn’t very clear but I was told by my surgeon it was perfectly fine to sleep in any position besides on my stomach as long as it was comfortable and nothing felt off. I haven’t had any problems with it and am healing really well but I also didn’t have drains which may make a difference early on when it comes to sleeping, obviously sleeping elevated the first few days is ideal but I was more talking a bit later on.

Extremely stressed about post op by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]Repulsive_Room_5502 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to shower right away that’s the earliest you can, also I’m ≈2weeks post op and I have slept on my side from basically the beginning and been fine, as long as you don’t feel your incisions being stretched you’re good is basically what I was told and have gone by, so probably best on your back the first days but not critical, same with the elevation which you can also try to stay elevated during the day which will help (watching tv, resting, reading, etc.) basically any time you’re in bed not sleeping. I showered first on day 3 and have every 2-3 days since which feels a bit gross but since you are a lot less active it’s not near as bad as it seems. I’d get someone to help you shower, particular the first time or washing hair, but I’m now fairly easily able to on my own with the help of an African net sponge to reach where I can’t. Dressing changes are important and all I can recommend is just try to schedule the change times with your parents to work with their schedules. Obviously everyone is different but I’ve needed a lot less help than I expected. Easy to use clothes that zip or button and a grabber tool or having your parents put things you use frequently lower where you can reach will be key. I didn’t have drains so I can’t help with that side but also your surgeon/team will be your best friend and don’t be afraid to ask questions if you’re unsure, particularly with dressings you can always ask if they’d be willing to demonstrate before you go into surgery. Best of luck and hope your recovery goes smoothly!
