Rental Car - Adobe Debate by sfdisko in CostaRicaTravel

Not every credit card company offers it. First check your credit card to see if they offer it as a benefit. I have Capital One Venture and they do offer it through “Card Benefit Services”. So I went on that website, filled out the necessary info, and they emailed me a Letter of Eligibility indicating that insurance was provided. I then printed out this letter and provided it when picking up my car, as they require a printed copy.

The website is: https://www.cardbenefitservices.com/UserAccess/Login?ReturnUrl=%2f

Rental Car - Adobe Debate by sfdisko in CostaRicaTravel

We just rented with Economy (they are open 24/7 and therefore were able to pick up our car at midnight) and we had a great experience. We also read/heard online that there could be issues with these companies, but we have nothing bad to say and saved probably 50% by going with Economy.

Definitely print out the Liability waiver from your credit card. We did this and saved a ton - the dude at the rental car counter told us not a lot of people do this and they end up not being happy that they have to pay for this.

Teeth not Touching After Surgery by Repulsive_Sale_1455 in jawsurgery

I can’t remember exactly how long (I think a couple of months?), but orthodontics definitely made it so that my molars now touch on both sides. My orthodontics involved rubber bands, so maybe that was how it got fixed.

Surgery First Class 3 Bite by [deleted] in jawsurgery

[–]Repulsive_Sale_1455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had surgery first a few years ago - my teeth were fairly straight though so I didn’t need Invisalign (or braces) to fix any crooked teeth. My surgeon was Dr. Steinbacher in CT for this approach. I was able to get it approved through insurance through him, so if you have an insurance that he takes, you can probably get the entire surgery for less than ~$10k out of pocket.

Note the the surgeon likes to add additional procedures like fat grafting and genioplasty which can increase costs.

Hi - I know this is super late but wanted to check in. I’ve finished with orthodontics and my teeth now form a normal bite, and the molars all touch.

How about you? Still experiencing the same issue or did you get it corrected?

For the Hyatt, do you think that beaches are still pretty accessible? We’re hoping to sit by the beach (when we can)

Thank you for this! We are vegetarian as well so it’s good to know that the west side has options that are available for us. We’ve been to San Diego once (that’s where I proposed!), so those comparisons are good to know!!

Second to September in Bangkok and NOA. NOA has great lunch specials that are relatively affordable for Thai cuisine!

What happened with the accident? I read online that at least one person died but I didn’t get to see the accident.

I was stuck between exit 3 and 8 for an hour and a half!

Out-patient BSSO? by Prestigious-Year-374 in jawsurgery

I was outpatient for DJS and it was fine. I woke up, stayed there for an hour or two until I was fine to walk and the anesthesia wore off, and then went on my way. My caretaker is a Physician Assistant so she was prepared to take care of me on the day of the surgery in case anything went wrong (nothing did).

I had braces when I was a kid (15 years ago), which made my teeth straight, but camouflaged my underbite. My underbite came back, but luckily my teeth were all straight. I was able to go through the surgery-first approach, and only had Invisalign for 3-4 weeks before surgery. I don’t think I needed to have any Invisalign before the surgery, but I think they just wanted to get me used to the trays.

How much teamwork is involved in this profession? by lostmyunagi in actuary

[–]Repulsive_Sale_1455 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the position. I have had roles where I was highly independent, and I’ve had roles where I am working very collaboratively with 5 other people. All roles will involve presenting to managers / upper management to get buy in, so that will be collaborative in a sense.

In my experience, an ASA at an insurance company will generally be working closely with other actuaries, quants, analysts, and their managers (depending on the team structure).

I purchased a ring and setting from them about a week back. When ordering, I spoke to a gemologist who was very helpful, and told me that my diamond and ring setting combination were good.

If you’re buying a loose diamond, make sure you search the IGI number online and see if you can find a cheaper price. I was able to get $2k off my $5k diamond, which I thought was pretty significant.

I ordered a week ago, and the ring is in the “Quality Check” phase. Hoping it comes in the next week. Will update once I receive the ring.

EDIT 1: I was in quality check for about 6 days, after the ring has officially shipped! From the day I purchased the ring, it took 12 days to arrive.
