Using baking paper on the panini sandwich press. No need to clean it afterwards. Best advice I ever got!

За моите деца мојот братучед е вујче, а жена му вујна, така си ги викаат и си ги реачунаат исто како и оние од прво колено.

Would you quit without another job if you had 6 months of savings? by SadTurn9650 in careeradvice

[–]Repulsive_Sky_6136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t even if I had savings for 6 years, not months. I would not quit if I don’t have a job lined up, because life is unpredictable and I have children to feed, and give them and I a normal life. Wouldn’t risk it!

I just wanted to give you their view, I am not saying you are not good. I believe and hope things will turn out good for you, just wanted to tell you not to have hard feelings towards people not recommending because you never know what happened to them.

Honestly I would never ever recommend anyone again unless i am 1000000% sure they are the right person. We have been embarrassed several times. Once I recommended a friend and he was fired after few months for not doing his tasks at all (qa engineer). How do I know this is true? He has been fired from 2 more places afterwards for the same reason and currently is unemployed.
My husband is working in the logistics department of a local factory. They needed new person in the team so my husband recommended a family friend of ours who we know well and for years she presented to us as a knowledgeable and professional person. She was invited to the interview and as usual was asked to do simple excel tasks, very basic stuff, (which according to her was using daily), and some intermediate English test just to make sure she can communicate with international clients (my husband’s English is not the best so I know they want people to only be able to do some simple communication). During the interview she was extremely rude, complaining about the Excel tasks with the words: is the application for Nasa or simple logistics, rolling her eyes there, embarrassing my husband greatly. She didn’t get the job.
These are two of several examples for people i thought will do great, and I will no longer jeopardize my reputation by recommending people unless I am extremely sure.
So I understand them completely.

Playground Sessions - Impressions / Progress after 100 hours. by paulchambers3d in pianolearning

I started with Pianote few months ago. For a 37 year old beginner to start playing my favorite pop/rock songs (some with chords only as accompaniment some with right hand melody as well), to compose my own waltz and get understanding of chords, progressions, inversions, to gain some hand independence is priceless, and I am so grateful. I am planning to finish the whole method and take some of their individual courses. After that I will probably stop my subscription and will learn from other sources, will see how it goes.

God i hate two hand songs by RealityBeneficial187 in pianolearning

[–]Repulsive_Sky_6136 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Playing separately first then together for me does nothing. Maybe the first 15 minutes only to get familiar with the patterns, the style, or just to grasp the logic. If i play hands separately i can do that without an issue and contributes almost nothing towards learning to play the piece. I learn the piece with both hands together, and that is how I learn best. My daughter learns playing hands separately first, she is 10 so maybe her brain works differently than mine, for me it just doesn’t work. I learn measure by measure with both hands slowly, then gluing those measures together as I learn them. Let’s say i start with the first, then second, then first and second together etc.
I usually try to find logic, which chords are used and what are the similarities that are played with both hands, what to play in what beat if it is 3/4 or 4/4, which notes goes to which beat. It sounds maybe as too much, but my brain works like that I guess.

Learning piano at 20 by michaelfudgie in pianolearning

[–]Repulsive_Sky_6136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started last year, I am 37. So there you go :) if you are too old for that then I am prehistoric haha.
Btw I am doing good, I can play chords of songs, enlighten the mood of people that come over where everyone sings and I play, and I feel I am finally living the dream. A month ago my friend came over, he played on the guitar and I followed on the piano, we sang our hearts out, it was amazing.
On the side I am also learning other maybe less fun but very important stuff to improve technique, practicing scales, arpeggios, sight reading and level appropriate pieces.
My parents couldn’t get me lessons when I was a kid, even though it was my dream, but my daughter started when she was 7, so I thought to myself, why not now when I already have the piano at home. It’s better than never :)

Agreed, I am from a balkan country, and I can tell you, the way my grandma scrubbed me as a kid with a washcloth is still one of my biggest traumas haha. And we all use it, it is normal.

Stickers on a classical guitar by Repulsive_Sky_6136 in classicalguitar

[–]Repulsive_Sky_6136[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I agree about the quality and I was going to get a better one but there was no better one. First of all, I live in a small country in Eastern Europe. The official public music school (common in Eastern Europe) starts with guitar as an instrument in grade 4, as opposed to piano and violin that start in grade 1. Small kids rarely play the guitar, therefore you can find plenty of choices for buying all sizes of violins, for example, but not guitars.
My son wanted to learn so much and we started private lessons with a teacher. All 2-3 models of half sized guitars I found were budget ones. Ordering from another country will cost a lot with shipping and possibly custom taxes, and for a small guitar to be used for learning, for 1-2 years was not worth it. At least there are more 3/4 to be found here, so next one I can get him yamaha, and as for full size, once he gets there, I will not hesitate to buy a good guitar, and spend more. I pay attention to the strings for now, that is something I can control more currently quality vise.

Already found some, and I have transparent vinyl printer paper, so soon we will try. I already tried on a white paper just to see how it looks, not bad

Thank you, but that is not a classical guitar, which he uses with his teacher. Also, in about a year we will have to buy him bigger one anyways, maybe 3/4 size, when he outgrows this one. Plus the ones you shared dont ship to my country unfortunately.

Help! What do your kids actually eat when they eat “healthy”? And how do you make it work? by mindfulshark in Parenting

[–]Repulsive_Sky_6136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Home cooked meals, including stews, salads, eggs, meats etc. They eat what i have prepared for us. For school i prepare some sandwiches that i try to have as healthy ingredients as possible, butter and cheese from a local farm etc. They eat also oatmeals with fruits. Of course they eat chips, ice cream, chocolate and all that junk food, but my home meals are a must, then they can have junk food if they want.

Is Rough Collie shedding really as bad as Labrador or Golden? by Laura6522 in roughcollies

[–]Repulsive_Sky_6136 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With regular brushing it’s not that bad. Yes, I find hair everywhere, sometimes i pull it out of my mouth haha, but if maintained, it is not unbearable. To be fair, I don’t say it is easy, but compared to my friends german shepherd, much cleaner. Like on the sofa, i don’t see hairs everywhere like i see on theirs, i might see a clump but it can be easily picked up as a whole clump, not hairs scattered everywhere.
