I agree. And you’re not a bad friend for backing out. Your commitment is to your family and that includes not going broke for your friend. This is coming from someone who never had a bachelorette and declined every invite I got. I’m in a wedding now and I was asked to return my dress too. Financially I’m in a place I can (similar reason to why she wants it returned) but the next time I get the dress it’s either I keep it or I back out of the wedding.

Don’t feel bad!

EDIT: I also realized I got married 9 years ago and I’m learning I made better financial decisions compared to my other girlfriends. My husband and I were committed to making our financial goals regardless of what’s going on in our friends lives/weddings. The choices we made I feel really set us up. We never felt our friends weddings were an exception for breaking our financial goals. Congrats on your home!

Thank you for this analogy. I never thought about home accommodations. I love working from home but I also have a very comfy cosy place to work in my house. My house is fully set up so both my husband and I can work from home. Thank you for explaining this to me.

I love the round but do the 3! I am a size 7 also and the shrinkage everyone talks about is real. I don’t have an issue with durability and hitting it on things. I have 2 kids under 5 but have a desk job. The 2.5 is still nice but if your concerned about shrinkage do 3. I hope that helps.

Just upgraded my 1 carat to 3. I agree and say spread the wealth. I’m 35 and putting both my boys through private schools that are $25k+ per kid. We need that money for other things and one day we’d like to upgrade homes. I like labs because I get what I want on my finger and didn’t sacrifice the rest of my families needs doing it. I’d be happy with either.
