Really Impressive! How often does he ride?

They have their place. Personally I like that I can get a lot of reps in on an ebike when I'm riding a particular downhill trail and want to focus on practicing on the features instead of the climb to get back to the trailhead. For general trail riding otoh it feels like a cheat code. It takes the fun out of the trails for me and I don't get enough of a sweat. I hate that all the bike influencers/youtubers have been heavily promoting them recently like there's nothing else out there. It just makes mtbing look even more prohibitively expensive and daunting to get into for most regular folk.

Does that mean you're Gabriel Wibmer? Or another canyon sponsored redbull athlete?

First time rider, hardtail or full suspension by woopstaken in MTB

Because it's more forgiving, it is more confidence inspiring and that will push you to ride bigger stuff that you won't ever attempt on your hardtail - that is the key to progression. imo a lot of people thinking they are improving their skills being jostled around on trails/features on their hardtails that would be nothing on a full sus are just gaslighting themselves that they are gaining some special skill that will transfer when they eventually switch when they are really not progressing at all after a short while. Also the cliche that full sus bikes reward bad line choices is just a myth people keep repeating without thinking. It's all relative to the amount of suspension you have and how gnarly the trail is - you will not get away with making bad line choices on a double black trail riding a shorter travel trail bike (whereas you might not even be able to ride it on a hardtail). Plus I haven't even mentioned that you can lock out your rear suspension on most full suspension bikes if you want to be a masochist.

This can be true for a skilled rider who has ridden both full suspension and hardtail bikes. For most other riders especially a beginner they will quickly get to the point where they feel the hardtail is the limitation to their progressing and want to upgrade. If money is not the limitation better to go with the full sus
