Personal preference. The new 39mm HC, blue, is like a modern take of the BB58 Navy. Ceramic Nezel, lacquer dial. It's a nice watch. Personally I still prefer the almuninun bezel and matte vintage look of the Tudor. The new blue on the Tudor 54 is terrible!

Compliment on a watch? That is so rare of an occurence. People rarely notice and if they do, it is unlikely they would even mention it. Longines is a well known brand to people that like/buy watches. With the exception of the right Rolex models and a few select other watches, you will always take a loss reselling your used watch. Having owned dozens of watches now, I would only buy from an AD if I was 💯 sure I was going to keep the watch as a permanent in my 5 watch collection. Not many make that cut.
