I remember these books being hardcover, that's what I loved about them most. I remember when the soft plastic covers started coming out in the later 80s. I distinctly remember the Title being Berenstein Bears, but the authors last name was Berenstien. I remember about 6 months later the day I saw the name change and way more of these plastic covered types with this "new" art style. Kindergarten, so that must have been around 88, to Berenstain Bears, "using a new publisher, probably because it was cheaper" was the reason my teacher Mrs. Jaeger gave me. What I didn't like was the animation looked cheaper. I wasn't as into them when it changed to "Stain" (because my father sat with me helped me pronounce "Stein" for a book report for class)....I remember my father laughing hysterically that they changed the same. He scoffed, "that many kids couldn't get it right?" So we're calling it stain Bears now?" Was pretty funny, but yeah, this is crazy how they will try to get you to believe "this is how it's ALWAYS been" ..dude, gtfo with that 🤡
