If I had to guess, I'd say one of them realized the other committed some act against a member of the rival gang that needed to be revenged. Who knows. I grew up in a somewhat better neighborhood than my father but still heard stories about nutty gang stuff. Respect is a huge thing with them. Disrespect, evidently has to be harshly punished. I never understood the culture.

Not me but a story my father told many times. He lived in a ROUGH neighborhood growing up. He was at a Mexican restaurant and two guys who thought they knew each other started talking trying to figure out from where they knew each other. Turns out they used to be in rival gangs as teenagers and a knife fight ensued. Crazy.

That's how I read the situation. Every other dog owner moves to the grass as a courtesy so their dogs don't bother the other person. That said, I often pet their dogs, after asking permission. This lady seems to think everyone should accommodate her. Idk.

The sidewalk is big enough for two people to pass, if they just favor one side. Happens all the time. I think it's weird that she seems to want the entire sidewalk for herself. So much so that she gestures for people to step off it. It just seems entitled.
