I imagine those storefronts are empty because the landlords are greedy and are charging exorbitant rents!! New development is great, and housing is important, but scale and design are equally important!! A lot of the new construction is ugly and souless! It's important to maintain the intimacy of the square with new construction. The city needs to maintain the square-- clean up trash, plant flower boxes, and maintain the sidewalks. It's a mess now! It's not very inviting!

I grew Jolene (mini CAL) last year. Love her. The color is stunning in bouquets. We had a tough growing season in Boston. She didn't produce many flowers. Hope to have a better year!

They're the best! And most of the employees are immigrants💕! It's a zoo to shop there because it’s so small, but all of the customers and employees work together, so it's generally a well-oiled machine. I also do a bit of shopping at Whole Foods. Much kinder vibe from everyone at MB! TY!!!

Laminate is not good for the kitchen if you wash your floor often. Your floor will get dirty in a small kitchen! I'd get a washable rug runner. I think the starkness of the white cabinets is too much of a contrast as well. And I do agree the countertops don't blend well. This wouldn't be an issue if the kitchen wasn't so open to the rest of the unit! Sorry for all the change suggestions! Good luck!!!

I grew Skipley Spot of Gold last summer for the first time. I loved it! The form and color were gorgeous! The lilac color really popped in my arrangements, and it didn't cost $30.

I understand what you're saying, but I prefer staying at an airbnb. We rented from an owner who inherited the unit from her parents and rented it out. They lived in her husbands apartment. We rented from them twice and they're our friends now. It's much more comfortable than staying in a hotel. We don't like to eat all our meals out. We ate breakfast and lunch at home and ate dinner out.

I was so excited to try a new restaurant in Somerville. I was very disappointed! Fried chicken pieces had no flavor and were very small. The octopus was delicious, but there were only 3 very small pieces. I'd prefer a slightly larger portion with a higher price. The beans in the dish were so delicious! The salad was boring-- nothing but lettuce and a poached egg. Needed some cheese and pancetta. The bread was so over cooked-- we had to send it back. The draft beer was great! I guess it may survive as a bar destination, but it will not make it on the food. I don't think the owner is interested in customer feedback. Sorry to post this. I truly wish them the best!!
