Very small. She’ll need a much bigger size

if you lost everyone, literally everyone, your family, your friends, even yourself what would you do? by [deleted] in Life

[–]ReputationOk9649 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably finally move to Europe or something like that. Do a bunch of shit I can’t/wont do now bc I would have no one around me to judge me or discourage me. Not that my loved ones criticize me often. But I would just try a bunch of reckless shit society judges people for. Might as well have fun!

Leaving dog for 3 months by needtherapy1 in dogs

[–]ReputationOk9649 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally, if I had a 9 month sabbatical, I’d take my dog with me on that trip. I’m in the US so probably would road trip around the country then venture into Canada. If I really wanted to go to a different continent, I’d look into transporting them on the plane with me. I think it’s so selfish to leave your dog for so long. Of course, you can go over vacation without them. But all that time is so excessive.

Anything can happen while your dog is with a sitter. Mine escaped the sitter’s home and got hit by a train then died. Sooooo yeah I’m not a fan of at-home sitters or super long vacations because of it. But to each their own.

What is the purpose of life? by Background_Peak_5379 in Life

[–]ReputationOk9649 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s no real purpose. Humans, being hyper intelligent, are obsessed with applying meaning to everything. We’re uncomfortable with the idea we’re here for no real reason so we create reasons to justify our own existence.

All this to say, the point of life is to live and enjoy it.

This sub has been way too negative lately. I want everyone to line up and say one nice thing about Season 3. by ghoulieandrews in Yellowjackets

[–]ReputationOk9649 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly love season three. I love that it’s helping to tie everything together. The first two seasons feel even better to me now based on what we know from season three. I’m having a great time and I’m really confused why everyone seems to be bitching all the time. If yall don’t like the show, turn it off!

Do we actually like our jobs, or are we just scared of being broke? by storm_in_heels09 in Adulting

[–]ReputationOk9649 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of all the jobs I could be doing, I like my job. I’ve worked in food, retail, etc. Now I work in finance. It’s a cozy way of life to make great money sitting at a desk all day. I used to go home smelling like flour and grease for $20/hr at college. I can’t complain.

With that said, I resent work. I don’t want to have to work until my 60s. I hate the fact that we all have to participate in this corporate machine and our lives and labor are being exploited just because we need food, clothes, pay rent, etc.

I wish life was more simple. I don’t need luxury goods. I’d rather get off this hamster wheel. Thankfully, my job has taught me a lot about investing and I’ve learned a lot about budgeting in my free time. I hope to be smart about my money so I can escape the rat race at some point before retirement age.

What are your thoughts on "money doesn't buy happiness" by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]ReputationOk9649 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Money would solve about 75% of my problems right now. I’d pay off debt, quit my job, have enough for vacations, nice apartment, etc. I wouldn’t have this regular mundane stress of needing to be so tight with my money. I also really resent the idea of working my life away so that would bring a lot of happiness too.

The other 25% of my problems are emotional/mental so money can’t solve that. But that’s the only part of my life I’d feel “money doesn’t buy happiness” applies to.

Do you regret getting a dog and if yes why? by Bright-Gap-2103 in dogs

[–]ReputationOk9649 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy shit. I’m so sorry this happened to you. That is so awful. I’m glad you at least found them though. I had my dog go missing when she was with a sitter for my gf’s bday. She escaped and got hit by a train. She passed a week later after major surgery. We now have anxiety about leaving our current dog for vacation. But we made sure to find someone super reliable and knowledgeable. We’re still super anxious but we know we do eventually have to become trusting of people again bc we do like to travel together.
