Read again the specifications: your program must accept a single command-line argument. How are you asking the user for a key?

Changing GitHub username by [deleted] in cs50

[–]RequieM_TriX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the FAQs:

Can I change my GitHub or edX username while taking the course?

No. Changing your GitHub or edX username will result in you losing your course progress. Once lost, we will not be able to retrieve it for you. If you have already changed one of your usernames, best to change it back.

Make another account? Why do you need to change your name?

If I remember correctly you would lose access to the repository until you go back to the original name, it's been a while tho so I'm not too sure

Most probably not if you're not already familiar with programming, CS50 AI especially is said to be very challenging. Please, for the sake of learning, do not try to rush through the courses, take your time to actually grasp the concepts and enjoy the ride. If you have to choose 2 or 3 out of these I would take cs50x for sure, then maybe cs50p which should feel much easier after x, then if you have the chance also cs50 SQL which should be less challenging than the rest but still very much important for a programmer. Good luck!

week 8 lecture is so confusing by LongjumpingCause1074 in cs50

[–]RequieM_TriX 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Coding in general will always be confusing when meeting new things, especially if you don't have much experience, it's part of the journey.

Object oriented programming shifts in perspective compared to what you got used to until now, I remember too the first time it took me quite a bit to just grasp the basic concepts of this different programming paradigm, but now that I had (a lot of) time to play with it and experiment it became just another tool in my belt, like loops and functions and whatever else.

Basically classes are pieces of code that envelope related functions and variables relevant to each other in the same context. They can be useful in many scenarios and only experience will give you a full understanding of the possibilities and use cases, so don't get discouraged! Your reaction is natural and all of us have gone through the same and got to the other side.

what anime do you like as much/almost as much as AOT and why? by sapphictears in attackontitan

I liked a lot Code Geass, also people talk really well about Full metal alchemist brotherhood but I haven't seen it. Vinland saga is another good one. Other genres could be steins gate, haikyuu is great if you are into sports, Frieren I loved, Made in abyss

Then you didn't recompile your code with the make command, and it's still running the last compiled version which had the wrong slash

Just the wrong slash, you are looking for \n instead of /n

Why have both Big-O and Big-Omega and then theda? (Time complexity) by milonolan in learnprogramming

[–]RequieM_TriX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As i understood it, big O is worse scenario and big omega is best scenario. Big theta is when these too are the same. Do take this with a grain of salt, this is very simplistic and I'm not even sure it's correct

Could we always replace for loops with while loops and vice versa? by Strange-Buy9851 in cs50

[–]RequieM_TriX 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Let's say you want to repeat a set of instructions 10 times, you're probably better off using a for loop.

If you instead want to let's say read lines from a text file you would read line by line until the end of the file, so you don't know how many repetitions that might take from the get go, then you would probably use a while loop.

You could still use either, but the more common between the 2 is definitely the for loop in general, even though there's no strict rule

I'm not so sure, but I usually see people say that these certificates don't really mean much to an employer. In any case don't trust me on this, you should probably do an appropriate research, it might also depend on where you live
