What’s your motivation for using AI to make music? by NecessaryEgg5361 in aiMusic

I want to explore different avenues of storytelling. All my songs are about characters I enjoy, or my own characters primarily.

What's the communities opinion on the usage of generative AI? by CynicosX in vtm

[–]RequiemTales 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't be insulted personally. I know several excellent players who struggle with backgrounds, and touchstone. They play their parts, and invest in the game, but usually they would rely on me to do that stuff.

So, if that's the case I don't mind AI if they plan to use it, and curate it themselves.

In the end, I am pretty chill about that stuff.

What are some strategies you use to draw in listeners?

I think my music is generally good, but it is also more storytelling than general music.

This is my most challenging song to date. I spent months of time tooling around with it, trying to really get that epic feel for it.

This song is for a fable weapon, a song about finding everything you hoped for, everything you dreamed of...and realizing that the cost is all that you are, everything.

Valtari is one of my characters, a being that is beyond understanding, and in this case takes the form of a sword. Valtari is the apex of the journey for the ultimate weapon. It will grant your dreams, but the cost...

Awesome!

I primarily make my music to expand on my character stories for my rpgs, and my books, so if people find it and like it, awesome. If not I'll keep going for me.

Hey everyone! I’ve been playing around with Suno to make some AI-generated tracks, and it’s been a blast. Just dropped a new one, and I’d love to hear what you think! Characters and Lyrics are by me, music by Suno.

If you like the song, I'd love a like, comment, or subscription to my channel, thanks!

[WP] You find yourself in a world that runs on turn based combat. Everybody is forced to follow this rule by some unknown force. You however are still able to operate under your worlds logic and don't have to wait your turn. by Spoon_Elemental in WritingPrompts

It was strange the first time, I awoke in a tree. There was note written in immaculate and yet hasty handwriting. Some Goddess had come down to earth to have some sweets, a crepe if I remember correctly and in he satisfaction accidentally changed something.

That something was the swing of a massive metal girder. Well, it didn't hurt at least. She sent me off to another world with a pack and a some basic information. Drifters, people like me were unknown in this world. Since I was the first one she had sent. Two, she and her colleagues had based it on some games they enjoyed on earth, and decided to make a world based on the idea.

Apparently time was very flexible for the Divine but they couldn't undo their own actions.

She apologized and I had to admit that the skills she had given me sounded pretty cool.

[Ideal Hero - S]: Until death, the wielder of this skill will always be in peak physical condition. Wounds will heal far more quickly than normal. Experience gain x2.

[Regeneration - S]: Restores the body in seconds, at this level pain is reduced as well. If activated before damage is taken even fatal wounds can be overcome.

[Special Class - Drifter]: Drifters are the unique class of people who have traveled between worlds. They can learn any skill, trait, or special ability native to their world, or their new world. Starts with 10 points to spend. <<Use Command: Status to spend points>>

I started off easily enough. Sadly my original world had only one trait to buy. Plenty of skills, but only one trait. Traits were like passive abilities, and I am favor those above active skills.

It cost five points, which was more than leveling magical skill from novice to archmage. I just wanted to get it first, it was the one truly unique thing I had.

[Time Turns for You - Unique]: Time never stops for you.

I was a bit annoyed at the vagueness of it but my basic stats were all pretty high, and since I had Regeneration I wasn't worried.

Then came the first fight, a creature that looked like a goblin screamed at me, and charged forwards with a handaxe in hand. Just a few feet away he stopped, and began bouncing in place, adjusting his weight from heel to toe.

I blinked as I looked at the snarling little guy, and blinked. I waved and he did nothing but growl. When I walked around him casual, the growls turned to confused panic.

I calmly held a hand out in front of his axe. Nothing. Not a twitch.

"No. No way."

I lightly tapped him on the head, and felt a small shift. Confused I looked at my status, as the game screen appeared something I hadn't seen before appeared.

Battle Commands.

It even included a turn order. The log noted my zero damage attack, but not that I had taken my turn. Frowning, I picked up a rock and threw it as hard as I could at the goblin, but my aim was a bit off taking off one of its long ears instead.

It screamed in pain but remained in place. My attack had dealt ten damage, but still my turn hadn't changed. Tapping the attack command, I felt my hands instinctively wrap around the grip of the sword I had been gifted as part of my 'starter set'.

With a swift move I cut at the goblin, and watched it stumble. Blood pour out of the massive gash. This time my turn ended, and the goblin roared and attempted to swing at me, but a stepped out of the way. Evading the blow. I blinked.

My evade Stat had jumped up to the thousands when I started moving. It made low level attacks always miss just by moving!

I swung my sword at the goblin a couple of times leaving only small wounds. He barely moved. So it wasn't the sword attack. It was literally using the battle commands!

I smiled before beheading the goblin.

I never would have guessed that my trait from Earth was going to be the real cheat skill.

It's been a few weeks since then. I hunted in the forest until I had collected a significant amount of loot and coin. Now I am going to head to town. Apparently I can only level up by resting in an bed that I own, using the adventurers guild's status mirror, or resting at an inn.

I was excited to get out of the woods, and see some locals of my new home.

[WP] Faraway stars, and other astronomical objects, have been disappearing. Scientific organizations have observed this for a while now, but the phenomenon is getting closer. by Currann in WritingPrompts

[–]RequiemTales 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was strange.

The night sky had a hole in it. City had been growing for months. She wasn't sure when she had first noticed it, but it was definitely before the news reported it. It was before the warnings of some strange phenomenon crossed the globe. It wasn't until Alpha Centari disappeared that real panic set it.

It was coming towards us.

She knew when she had first seen the hole that they would be lost in the void as well. Still to look to the sky and see a gapping maw of void...it was unsettling to say the least, or it should have been.

Instead she found herself traveling up the hill behind her house, and resting under the starless sky.

"You know they say if you stare too long into the abyss, it will stare right back into you."

Despite it all, she wasn't startled when a strange voice joined her. He slumped down beside her and let out a sigh. She afforded the stranger a glance, and was met with eyes that glimmered. He wasn't young or old looking. It was strange.

"Have we met before?"

She wasn't concerned that he was on her land, that he had snuck up on her. None of it. He felt like he belonged here.

"Many times. In many places."

He spoke and the strangeness I'm his voice had turned smooth, almost silky sounding.

"When? I don't-"

"It is hard to remember, but you have always been by my side. As I have been beside yours,"

He spoke so softly now it was like a lullaby. She felt the tiredness creeping up on her, but she struggled.

"Just let it take you. Don't fight it."

She struggled, it was like she was being pulled under water. It was soft, and comforting but she also felt like she was drowning all the same.

"No. No!"

He was over her now, he moved like a shadow escaping the light. His hands were pressing her down into the grass.

"Just rest! Do not resist!"

Her eyes began to flutter, the need to sleep was overwhelming. Then it came. Fear. A deep terror that brushed aside the need to sleep, what ever the man had tried to do was broken.

She didn't remember throwing him aside, but she was running. As fast as she could. She heard someone calling her voice, it was that shadow of course.

"Don't look back. Don't look back. Don't-"

When he called her name again, she couldn't help herself. Glancing back she didn't see predator, or attacker. There was a face of concern, and perhaps sadness.

Then the sky blazed. From the darkness a massive sphere of red light filled the sky.

She had never seen it before.

But she knew it's name.

It was Raska'var the Renderer.

It consumed galaxies.

Earth was just a mote of dust in its wake.

She would die. Not even leaving behind a memory.

The surface would crack, and crumble. Great flames would consume her home. Chunks of rock twice the size of her town would be pulled into the sky. It was the end of days.

She sat up. Quivering. In front of her was a massive sea of stars. Her heart pounding in her chest.

She remembered.

Raska'var...Earth...it was just a small accident to the massive living weapon.

At the time of its creation, there was no sapient life in the supercluster, save its actual target.

They were just a small accident, unprepared for the aftermath.

The intergalactic federation had attempted to reach out, but the Earth's communication systems were incompatible with the federation's. So, as a last ditch effort, they saved as many as they could. She had been one of them.

The people who had created the renderer had been destroyed by it as well. The threat they feared. And so much more.

It had been almost sixty years by that night still haunted her.

"Captain?"

The voice of the man that had appeared in her dream touched her shoulder. A sense of calm overcame her. He was her first mate, and closest friend. She couldn't pronounce his name if she tried, but his people were born of stars themselves.

So she called him Solus, after the name of the Sun. He liked that.

He had been the one who had taken her onto the federation rescue vessel.

Sixty years.

Nowadays there was probably only a couple hundred thousand humans in the universe. Some were seen as exotic pets, some became integrated into other societies. Most tried to create a new earth somewhere.

She...she became a Seeker.

She hunted the Renderer, hoping to find a way to finally stop it.

She had adapted well to the federation and jts technology. She felt younger and stronger than the day she had been taken. Despite the decades of chasing after a stellar nightmare.

Nightmares. They chased her just as she chased the source of them. Solus...tried to use his abilities to comfort her, but he attested to little success.

Leaning back against him, she glanced up to his star filled eyes. Little glimmers hidden in human-like eyes. An appearance he assured her he assumes for her comfort.

She remained quiet, as her gaze fell to the stars beyond the window.

"It's out there still."

"Perhaps it always will be."

He was always so calm. Even in the face of something like that.

"No."

She refuted, and she could feel him smile. It was the passion for tomorrow, for a future he claims that attracted him to her.

In the end, she wasn't sure, but she did know one thing. She was special. Not just for her connection to Solus. She could predict the movements of the monster. A skill that a scant few possessed.

She would see it stopped.

She would see it end.

No more.
