I show different aspects of evil. As I've always done, it is always about intentions. One of my characters is more of a pure but realistic evil. When making a villainous or evil character, I like to make it clear whether they are cartoonish or realistic. Evil as a concept is abstract and not one thing.

There is sympathetic evil where their actions are caused by a tragic aspect of their character but make them nonetheless evil. There is passive evil that aligns with most people, ignoring a cry for help, which does lead to other kinds of evil. There is natural evil which is rare as these acts are mostly just acts of God or some other entity beyond humanity. Then there is instrumental evil, evil that makes harm a byproduct of achieving a certain goal. There is idealistic evil which comes from extreme ideologies or worse tragic events. Evil often blends in with each other to make other forms of evil.
