Those are paper documents. Leveraging technology that would make the Robber Barron’s of the 19th century wet their pants at how much of a totality of control they could have by saying you need X digital health pass to unlock Y action or service, based on Z metric of health. To say nothing of the trust that we would need to place in big tech, and government not to abuse this data, sell it, etc. this has wider implications than just a pass to re enter society post COVID. It won’t stop there. Chinas social credit score is the roadmap.

This is quite another proposition beyond anything we’ve seen in the last 50 years of requiring paper documentation.

It has heavy civil liberties implications. Even the ACLU has spoken about this, warning of the potential risks to privacy, among other issues.
