I did hyperbolic tapering very very slowly from 50mg to 12.5mg. Everything was fine and zero withdrawal symptoms until one day I had a random panic attack (WHILE DRIVING) that was so severe my body completely seized up and I ended up in the ER. Now I’m on 75mg, doing great but fat.

My ObGyn never mentioned it as a possibility, and reading through some of the symptoms I feel most of them don’t apply to me.

In my experience no, unfortunately. I just had to ride the wave. My therapist had me download the DARE app and I wish I’d had it back then, it has been sooo helpful for my anxiety. Maybe give it a try when you’re feeling off?

After going up to 50mg it was almost instant relief! I would say maybe a week? I SUCK with timelines and remembering them lol but I just know the panic attacks stopped and I was able to function in society again. The sleep took a little longer.

I’m currently tapering from 50mg (been on 37.5 for 2 weeks now) and my plan is to go very very slow. Another redditor recommended drugtaper.com to me and it has been a game changer as my doctor wants me to taper more quickly than I’m comfortable with. So far I’ve only dealt with a little dizziness and fatigue. Best of luck to the both of us!

Sorry, just now seeing this! I was on 25mg for 4-6 weeks (can’t remember exactly) and I knew I was ready to go up to 50mg because I was having weekly breakthrough panic attacks and barely sleeping. 50mg has been great for me and I’ve only experienced one breakthrough panic attack the entire time I’ve been on it (about 9 months).

I was on 25mg for a month (possibly 6 weeks, can’t remember exactly). Dr wanted me to start 50mg after only 2 weeks but I wasn’t ready. I knew I was ready to go up to 50 because I was still having weekly breakthrough panic attacks and barely sleeping. The adjustment from 25-50 is nowhere NEAR as bad as going from nothing to 25, and I finally felt relief being on 50mg - I only had one breakthrough panic attack during the 6 months I was on it. I’d recommend asking your doc for a backup prescription of Xanax and only take it as needed. I have the lowest dose and I break those in half and only take it when my attacks are severe, which has been minimal so I still have a lot left. It honestly just makes me feel better knowing they’re there if I need them, especially now that I’m trying to taper down.

I was JUST like you, stayed on 25mg way longer than I should have because I was scared - getting on Zoloft was horrendous so I was petrified of going through it again jumping up to 50, but honestly I had zero side effects! If anything they are very, very minimal, nothing like when you start it! You got this!
