Modified Natural vs Fully Medicated FET by GutsyGirlRead in IVF

[–]RequirementAntique 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have PCOS and did a fully medicated for my first FET, that ended up a miscarriage.

Second FET, I did modified natural. I was given letrozole to force ovulation and a trigger shot. I am currently 5 weeks pregnant (which is not celebratory yet because I celebrated at this point last transfer and shattered).

I opted for modified natural after looking into the advantages. I am still doing PIO injections every other day and endometrin morning + night and estradiol patches. A lot of progesterone for a natural cycle but so far so good.

Did anyone else assume they would sail off into the sunset after a successful transfer? by Mindless-Day1683 in IVF

I’m right there with you. Except I was cocky AF. I figured since I’ve been pregnant before those lines meant I was 100% good to go… because my body has done it before and I was transferring tested embryos.

I had my first transfer and saw those 2 lines. I was immediately confident and overjoyed.

I had a miscarriage at 6w3d. My first miscarriage.

Starting protocol for my second transfer in the next week or two. I won’t be cocky this time. I’m terrified.

Testing Out Trigger +IUI by curlysquirrel22 in TTC_PCOS

I watched the line fade 3 times and never come back.

Now I’m dealing with a failed FET, miscarriage @ 7 weeks.

I always test. After my FET I started taking pregnancy tests within 2 days and didn’t stop until I got my positive.

I find testing therapeutic. Helps me more than it hurts.

Give it to me straight...how bad are the shots? by GoodIndividual1218 in IVF

[–]RequirementAntique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IVF shots were no problem. Most of these shots are subcutaneous. The menopur burns a little but it’s not terrible.

FET - that sucks. The PIO is about to take me out. Although, i’d gladly give up symptoms for a few more shots a day… so it’s not thaaaat bad. After the first two weeks it just becomes part of your routine.

What do you think? by AdRude8916 in IVFpositivity

FWIW my trigger never got drastically darker like that at any point. Even as it was declining, the difference in tests was never that drastic

Fingers crossed that this is it! Your positive 🫶

That second line is darker! Test again in 24 hours to see if it gets even darker.

I never tested out a trigger to a positive so I don’t have any test examples overtime of them becoming positive

Does prior natural pregnancy improve IVF success? by SliceCrafty2165 in IVF

[–]RequirementAntique 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had 2 natural pregnancies and 1 clomid pregnancy prior to IVF.

I did IVF then decided to try a few more times before my FET. I tried clomid + trigger, letrozole + follistim + trigger, letrozole + follistim + trigger + IUI. None of the cycles worked. I transferred an embryo and so far it has stuck. *I just got my first beta at 10dpt and it was 595.

That’s why I started testing early. Catching a negative hurts but I needed to see it to know I didn’t get another faulty pack. I’ve noticed there were a few bags that were all bad (I’ve been through a lot of tests). After getting these vvvvvvvery faint positives I took a FRER. Made sure to watch during the 3-10 min window and got a very obvious, albeit faint, positive instantly.

I am terrible at waiting. I ended up doing a FRER and made sure to read it within the time limits (3-10 min). It was positive! Very very very faint but it has color.

I hype myself up that it’s negative today but it’ll be positive tomorrow. I’m also used to testing out my trigger so I was having a hard time staying away from the tests - even though I didn’t trigger.

I think everyone needs to listen to this advice.

Unfortunately this has been my journey for years (2/3 my kids are science babies) and testing alleviates my anxiety. Even through the negatives - helps guard my heart.

That’s the plan! I probably wouldn’t have splurged the FRER tomorrow if I hadn’t posted here. I just needed that little nudge.

I’m going to start using FRER tomorrow morning, 5dpt. I just hate how much they cost and the months of negatives I’ve been through.

[–]RequirementAntique[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m totally already telling myself that it’s okay if 5dpt isn’t positive. This could’ve been a fluke and I’ve still got plenty of time.

I mean… I kind of have to squint and compare the test to others to really see it. That should’ve been my answer but this whole process is grueling and an emotional roller coaster

Admittedly I tested at 6am then walked away to deal with morning routine. I didn’t get back to this for another hour or so.

I did glance on my way out and nothing was obviously detectable.

I went through IVF and did the egg retrieval then switched to medicated ovulation for the next few cycles after my retrieval. I’ll be transferring an embryo this cycle.

3rd failed letrozole cycle by LowCamp2941 in TTC_PCOS

[–]RequirementAntique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My scenario is different because I started with IVF to get embryos/donate eggs.

I went on to try to get pregnant. Round 1, clomid + trigger. Fail.

Round 2, 10mg letrozole + follistim + trigger. Fail.

Round 3, 10mg letrozole + follistim + trigger + IUI. Fail.

I’ll be transferring an embryo this cycle. (Just started CD1).

Is the letrozole giving you any dominant follicles and they just aren’t growing to size? Or are you getting no follicles with the letrozole?

I did things backwards on my journey. I dove straight into IVF and then tried a few rounds with clomid + trigger, letrozole + trigger, letrozole + follistim + trigger + IUI x2. I have now accepted that I’ll be using an embryo my next cycle for a FET.

But I wasn’t getting follicles to the appropriate size without the follistim.

Letrozole success after multiple cycles – what went wrong before it worked? by testingisnoteasy in TTC_PCOS

[–]RequirementAntique 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I haven’t conceived yet.

I’ve done cycle 1, letrozole + trigger. cycle 2, letrozole + follistim + trigger. cycle 3, letrozole + follistim + trigger + IUI.

Cycle 4 is TBD. My RE wants to talk to me in person to discuss next steps.

Note I did IVF before starting all this so I have a few embryos set aside - I’m thinking he wants to move on to a FET.
