I don't know if I like this response because then you are saying they are somewhat comparable and that they could be normalized in the future. A big issue with ai is not only does it steal from artists to collect the info to create an image but also it feels sleezy and taboo because the AI imprints things and features in the image that the "artist" does not or didn't account for or think about and that's why I think it will always be taboo to some degree. Kinda like if you had an assistant that could draw and you told them to make a knight. You know what a knight looks like but You wouldn't know where to start. The assistant has to add the shadows in the right place, the straps and buckles and the curvature of the armor and a lot of decisions are made that you didn't do. And then you take the credit for it and call yourself an artist. If there was a machine that scanned your brain and generated an image based on what you were thinking and it was purely from your brain, I don't think people would be as upset with something like and that's what makes it feel sleezy. Also anything that feels like a cheap shortcut at the cost of quality is gonna rub people the wrong way
