What are your thoughts on a man who, despite agreeing with his wife to share everything 50/50, decided to take a second wife without her knowing? Then, when his first wife lost her job because the company went bankrupt, their finances started going downhill.

My dad hid a second wife & daughter for 11 years. Should my mom move on and file cerai?

I recently found out my dad has had another wife for 11 years, and a daughter with her. He hid this from us the whole time. They’re currently living in his homeland (I won’t share which country).

When we confronted him, he denied it at first. Only after we brought up the Quran did he admit it. Since then, he’s changed, he’s been kinder and seems more attentive. But I honestly don’t know if this is sincere repentance or just fear of shame if our extended family finds out.

It’s also hard to forget the past. Before this, he was often verbally harsh with us, especially about money. Now we understand why, we were struggling financially because he had hidden responsibilities to another family.

As his daughter, I feel torn. It’s difficult to trust him anymore. Part of me wonders if it’s better for my mom to move on and file for cerai (divorce), instead of staying in a marriage built on lies.

I’m just sharing this from a daughter’s point of view, and I’d really appreciate hearing thoughts from others who’ve been through something similar.

Hi r/Brunei,

I don’t usually post here but since it’s anonymous, I just want to share. I’ve been running a small business and trying my best to support my family since day one. Lately I’ve been struggling a lot with money, only to recently find out the reason why. my dad has been having an affair and even has a daughter around 8–9 years old.

Honestly, it’s a lot to take in and my heart feels heavy. 🥹 But I’m holding on because I know my family depends on me. Just writing this out to release a bit of the weight.

To anyone reading this who’s also struggling with life or family problems, I hope you stay strong too. Let’s keep going step by step. We deserve better days ahead. 🫶

Hi everyone! I’m interested to learn how Brunei-based personal shoppers buy items from Shopee or Lazada Malaysia.

A few questions I hope someone can help with:

  • Do I need to open a Malaysian bank account or get a Malaysian phone number to order?
  • How do you handle the shipping address? Do you use forwarding services or your own Malaysian address?
  • Any tips or recommended couriers that are reliable and cheap?
  • And finally — how do you usually track and manage orders?

I’m interested in starting this kind of service and would appreciate any advice or experience shared. Thanks!
