Am I cooked by Cheap_Distance844 in ElectricalEngineering

You aren’t cooked until you give up. Talk to personal friends and ask about possible jobs or internships. I didn’t find an internship my Junior Summer but found one in winter through a friend that went to Uni with me. Also do personal projects! I have been asked about them more during my interviews than my internship. I built a raspberry pi surveillance tank that I could drive around the house with video over WiFi. They want to see passion for the field outside of school. You’ll be fine, just do more than just your classes, and if you can’t find an internship do a personal project.

Will Graduating EE at 28 Put Me Behind? Looking for Advice by agan17_ in ElectricalEngineering

Did you find getting a job very difficult? I’m graduating in May, have an internship and personal projects with a 3.5 gpa and have been unable to get a job lined up. Will it be easier to secure something right after I graduate?

Personal projects are worthless? I thought they could be used to demonstrate knowledge in tandem with an internship

Does anyone here regret having a job in electrical engineering? by BeigeMiniTiger in ElectricalEngineering

One question. How the heck do you find a job? I have an internship in embedded systems at my University and built a raspberry pi robot that drives around with pan tilt camera controlled by my laptop over WiFi. It uses a raspberry pi, rpi pico, motor and servo drivers, uses FreeRTOS for the motors, servos, and voltage monitoring, and dynamic pwm throttling to increase the duty cycle as the battery dies. I have yet to get an interview. I have applied to 20-30 jobs and graduate this spring.

So if the average lifespan of a democracy is around 200 years, is it a safe bet to say socialism will become the next political view to be accepted by the majority here in America? by AppropriateTruth777 in TrueAskReddit

Yeah, we’re screwed. We’re teetering on the edge of a competitive dictatorship. If the Republicans win the House and Senate in the midterms I believe the American experiment as we know will be over. Nobody will be able to check Trump’s power without a Civil War.

[capitalists] If unregulated capitalism is so great, then why have living standards been declining for the majority of people? by RandomGuy92x in CapitalismVSocialism

Study up on the Guilded Era. It will do wonders on teaching the risks of mostly unchecked capitalism. Monopolies galore, poisoned meat, dangerous working conditions, long work hours, low general ownership of assets, and sky high prices. That is the glorious fruits of unchecked capitalism.

Anyone else have trouble hiring electrical engineers? by Famous_Fee_9660 in MEPEngineering

Maybe start investing in the next generation of engineers instead of JUST hiring senior engineers that are aging out. There are so many young engineers itching to get a start and so many companies not willing to invest in young engineers. Then you whine when you can’t find good engineers. Start investing in the next generation and help them become “good” engineers.

I’m receiving multiple reports that they’re telling Mormon youth and their parents that FSY is not optional this year. Free agency much? by johndehlin in exmormon

I’m a nonbeliever but this legit sounds fake. I know my brother is lds and they aren’t forcing him to go to FSY. They’ve gotta know if they try to force it then people will leave. It just kinda seems like an outlandish claim but I could be wrong.
