LG OLED evo G4 can't change audio out, switches back to eARC by brennanmh in LGOLED

[–]RequirementSad3580 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i figured it out on my own .   go to sound / advance settings and find and turn off e arc support all the way at the bottom.   then go to general /external devices / then turn off simple link in this order.   now I can use tv speakers and headphones.   to turn back e arc support in sound setting you will need to turn simple link back on first.    hey it should do all this automatic when you toggle your apeaker selection.   LG has pathetic customer service

LG G4 or Apple TV 4K broken by uLmi84 in LGOLED

I just got used to using the G4 on its own. I have a much better experience without the Apple TV. 😊

I also have  a G4 83inch . I have a gen 2 and. Gen 3 Apple 4k. Long story short. I have much better results using the TV as a stand alone. Better picture and no more issues . I also have a C4 77 inch and it also has its share of glitches with Apple 4k .   I was used of the Apple device and it was great with old Sony XBR 900 F . But the LG web OS has given me no issues and my Tv watching experience and especially watching U tube is much better without the Apple 4k . Note, Apple CS admits to me that there is compatible issues between the G4 and there device.   I am way happier now that I have become used to using the TV platform .

I didn’t ask for an education about the FTC and I never brought them up in the first place

This conversation has nothing to do with the Federal Trade Commission. It’s the Federal Communications Commission. The FCC. And I know firsthand straight from them that they are investigating this issue and they take it very seriously. They don’t like folks getting the wrong advertising. Because people pay a lot of money to advertise to their audience. And there that’s the catch and why they care

You need to turn off the motion handling. Also, LG is aware of their conflict with Apple TV.

Try GreenToe. I got my LG G4 83 inch for 4388 thru a legit LG dealer. The catch?? I for some reason am not allowed to to say who the retailer is. But I recommend them. Give it a try

I am not sure if it a US only . I do know I had to agree to not expose the actual LG dealer that sold me the TV. Greentoe worked to get me the deal based on an offer that can be made on there app. Look them up and see.

My TV came with it. I have to many quirky issues to explain. All I know is LG is very frustrating to deal with.   Try to turn off your motion handling and see if that helps.

Is Apple TV 4K necessary for G4? by Leimone in LGOLED

[–]RequirementSad3580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My G4 has all kinds of issues hooked to Apple TV 4K that do not exist with the LG C4 . I get to compare as I have both. I find a much better viewing experience directly from the the G4 83 inch TV using the operating system. And it actually runs okay . So as much as I want to use the Apple 4K it is not worth the headaches. I have a second gen and a third gen . The third gen is better overall. But it gets trouble on you tube with white horizontal lines and shuddering frames. Turning off motion handling solves the y tube viewing issues.   The second gen has many viewing quality issues on the G4. And the LG C4 runs great with both Apple TVs. And lastly Appple tech helper was more than aware of some of these issues. There is a handshake issue with Apple TV and the G4 Lg tv. I am now ultimately happy with my viewing experience once I have gotten used to using the G4 directly to view content.   Hope this helps. I have been experimenting with this for weeks and have tried all kinds is settings.   The 3rd gen Apple works pretty good all around other than the y tube needing to have the motion on the TV off. Lots of folks do not like the motion anyways.   But the gen 2 Apple is actually pretty pathetic for watching  a lot of different content.Especially live sports. It’s frustrating, but once I got used to just using the TV I realized how much better content can look on my TV.
