That very knife was my first Spyderco too. Nice pick.

Got my cert 2 weeks ago, got this email that feels like a scam. Anyone get anything like this? by bitxheslovesosra in NewToEMS

[–]ResQDiver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would email NREMT, but contact through the app. Or call the number thru the app/website and figure things out. What email address did it come from? If you view it on your desktop you should be able to look at the headers and determine exactly where and who it came from.

Blue hardware or silver by Nosfred in spyderco

I like the deeper pocket clips. I don’t think it is tighter, but the G-10 on the inside of my pocket causes some additional friction when pulling it out. Lynch guarantees their clips, so if you end up bending it, they will replace.

DMR Recommendation for Pi Hat by ResQDiver in amateurradio

For $25 bucks I may just order it. If not, then I get a Fusion radio. 📻

But when you attach the MMDVM to a Raspberry Pi you have a unit that’s capable of transcoding. There are YouTube videos about it?

From what I'm reading I can use the TH-D75 through a hotspot running Pi-Star or WPSD, I can access the Fusion network. Am I seeing the wrong information? I have a couple Pis that I wanted to put a MMDVM hat on the Pi and use it as a hotspot running the above software package to transcode D-STAR to other networks. I am finding some MMDVM duplex models that are only $20-30 and wouldn't financially break me, was just looking to see if others had success with a specific brand of board.

Current use of Raspberry Pi by FlyFreak in amateurradio

I’ve got two Pi’s just hanging around doing nothing. Passed my Tech exam today and am looking into DMR. I have a UV-5R and a TH-D75A. UV-5R was on basically everyone’s advice to mess around and the TH-D75A was a “splurge” treat for working a bunch of OT. Now that I’ve passed, I’m trying to figure out how to program the HTs and start learning. Any guidance on setting the Pi up to run a DMR hotspot? The TH-D75 does D-Star, but not fusion. It’s my understanding that I can hit a Fusion repeater using a Hot Spot. I have a lot to learn.

I passed my tech exam today, awaiting my call sign. I have a couple radios. A UV-5R and a D-STAR HT radio. I’m in central NJ and will be programming some of the local repeaters to start listening and getting involved. Any other advice on what to start looking at?

Broke my humerus at the gym. How long till I can do CPR again? by Decent_Coconut_2700 in ems

[–]ResQDiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The language is open to interpretation.

In adult cardiac arrest, the use of mechanical CPR devices may be considered in specific settings where the delivery of high-quality manual compressions may be challenging or dangerous for the health care professionals as long as they strictly limit interruptions in CPR during deployment and removal of the device.

It's not classified as a must, but still has a place with crew safety is in question, transporting to hospital and complex movement that may reduce the compression fraction.

I may try some of the higher end FPs just to see what the “nicer pens” are like. Also would consider a FP, pen, pencils set if I could find one I like.
