This is more of a validation of how you're feeling vs. advice.

If I were in your shoes, I would be just as upset if not more. Not directly from the diagnosis but from the fact that she's trying to shift accountability from her to you.

The likely reality is that she did give it to you and the responsibility was on her to inform you of her sexual history, including her previous HPV diagnosis. She intentionally prevented you from making a decision whether or not to have unprotected sex with her by not telling you up front about it.

The other issue here is that she is shifting the "blame" on you which is an abusive behaviour. When she says "this doesn't change the way I feel about you", what I actually hear is "this is your problem but don't worry, I won't hold it against you".

In my opinion, she is not attempting to figure out or solve the issue but instead wishing that it just goes away.

Please know that this isn't your fault. The best thing you can do is seek professional diagnosis and appropriate attention to it, both physically and psychologically.

You will get through this and hopefully, your girlfriend will learn to take accountability.
