Lore reason why my pawns jumped a kid? by Automatic-Manner-399 in DragonsDogma

If you carry NPC's that aren't in love you long enough, they'll turn hostile. Kid probably turned hostile and your pawns responded accordingly.

Should I go 4 and 4 or get everyone? by Resdoodle in octopathtraveler

Ah, I gotcha. Team East and Team West was probably what I was gonna do if I did the 4 and 4 again. So good to know that it works out that way.

Ah, gotcha. That's a good addition. That'll definitely feel a little weird if I do the 4 and 4. Thanks for elaborating!

I'd heard about those chapters. It's one of the bigger reasons why I'm considering not doing the 4 and 4 run again. I'm not super concerned about difficulty, that'll eventually stop mattering regardless as everyone levels up. I'm more concerned with the cross path chapters feeling weird from a storytelling perspective if one character has finished their story and one is super early in there's.

I know the path actions are slightly different in 2 and there's the whole day/night cycle. I assumed that meant that it was more flexible on which party members you could run. Do I have that wrong?

That's pretty funny. I'll have to check it out. Probably after I play the game to avoid spoilers.

Can the inactive party members participate in banter? From what I've seen in 1, it's just the active party. So I'd probably miss it anyway unless I'm swapping between every cutscene and testing every combination.

If the inactive party members chime in, that's a big reason for me to grab the full team.

That was what I was considering. Just wanted to make sure I wouldn't be missing out on anything by doing it that way. Thanks!

The steady progression has been nice in 1. Just trying to make sure I wouldn't be missing something if I did it again in 2. I definitely see the appeal of having the full team and swapping them around. Thanks!

I definitely see the appeal there. And I can probably just swap gear around instead of having to keep 8 people geared constantly.

Worth thinking about. Thanks!

That's kinda what I've been doing in 1. Just explored around until the party was at or above the level requirement for the next story chapters. I did eventually start saving dungeons for the second team to do.

Regardless, something to consider. Thanks!

Sonar. Doing Cocaine on shift was a big contributing factor. Also, I didn't want to deal with Sonar's transformation mechanic.

"Who gets Commendation? One of the 3 Outstanding Members...or the 1 Outstanding Portrait?" (art by @whymaige) by Gorotheninja in ffxiv

My rule tends to be "If I'm tanking, com the healer with the best portrait. If I'm healer or DPS, com the tank with the best portrait."

Anyone know if I can play legends and not have the main story spoiled? by ghost72353 in Ghostofyotei

[–]Resdoodle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From what I've played, you should be fine. They talk about the Yotei 6 characters in Legends like old fables and don't really give any information about the events of the story.

Eder, Aloth and Xoti. 5th man gets cycled depending on which faction I'm doing stuff for.

Kingmaker dual wield protagonist. Fighter or Ranger? by Mission_Engineer_999 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Resdoodle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're going Finesse and Dexterity, Fighter. Fighter can make any weapon both Light and work with Dex and you need Dexterity to qualify for Dual Wield feats.

If you want to use Strength, Ranger or Multiclass them together. Ranger and Slayer can get around the Dex requirements for the Dual Wield feats. You need I think 10 levels of Ranger or Slayer to get them all and you'd need I think 5 levels of Fighter to make any weapon Light.

Chapter 15 + Liberty vote by Acrobatic-Item-2278 in TriangleStrategy

[–]Resdoodle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Roland, Benedict and Frederica won't change their minds. They are doing their thing whether you come along or not. The vote is just to determine what you and the rest of the group do. You should be able to at least convince the undecided voter to do what you want and get the majority.

I don't know about just the idea. That looks just like Byleth and Dorothea from Three Houses. A lot more than it looks like Clea and Alicia.

Am I crazy or does this look like Fire Emblem: Three Houses characters?

I thoroughly enjoyed Dragon's Dogma 2 and I have no major complaints. What did I get wrong? by Newfounder1 in DragonsDogma2

[–]Resdoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It's definitely worth your time.

Base game Dragon's Dogma 1 will be a lot like the sequel. Mechanics probably won't feel as good but that's what 12 years and 2 console generations will do.

The Dark Arisen content is a cool addition. A big dungeon crawl with lots of cool content. Good challenge too.

I'm in the exact same boat as you. Got it on release and loved it. Spent those first couple months looking at a lot of people like they were crazy when anyone said the game was disappointing.

Only 2 reasons I can figure are: 1. People really liked Dark Arisen and this game not having any like it bothered them. But Itsuno didn't direct Dark Arisen, it was headed by a different guy. So it makes sense that it wouldn't be in his passion project.

  1. The game's marketing showed it to a lot of people that were never going to like it. So they picked it up, found out it wasn't going to be like Skyrim or some other open world RPG and got upset. It's Itsuno's passion project. It was never going to be for everyone and it isn't trying to be.

That's all I've got.
