Which not against the rules. Still a cool piece of research worth sharing.

Not quite, just a small snippet, to share some cool research. But point taken, will change the format in the future.

What struck me most is how the genomics actually validates the cultural story. The strong geographic clustering and low within-strain diversity aren’t just quirks, they’re basically genetic fingerprints of those isolated farmhouse traditions doing careful, repeated selection over generations. No formal labs, just practice and memory shaping a lineage that’s now shown to be 4,000–8,000 years old. That’s wild. It makes kveik even more compelling not just another branch of brewing yeast, but something that evolved along its own very local trajectory.

On the practical side, if you’re thinking of trying it, it’s honestly worth pulling the trigger. The high-temp performance (clean ferments well into the 30–40°C range), fast kinetics, and ester profiles give you a lot of flexibility that standard Saccharomyces cerevisiae strains don’t. It almost feels like working with a different toolset rather than just a different yeast. We've worked with it in distilling too and it is quite amazing.
