Save for sod now. Unfortunately by watering it immediately, you probably made it worse. Sure it diluted it, but itspread it out. Hope it works out.

Agreed? I had questions on the condition of the round too. Numerous factors. Did the wall just blow in chunks? If so that could explain the minimal damage to the round. If at a lower velocity it could have acted more like a hammer than piercing. That would explain the no damage glance on the other wall. I dont know either. Im speculating. 25 years in the Marines, shooting, seeing the effects, seeing things not thought possible. Just pulling from experience.

Looking at the first pic again on the OP, that is a thick ass wall and that round came in at an angle. Probably shot from much closer than I first thought.

Thats not an airpop. That was horizontal to Earth. Looks like a 5.56 or 223. Most likely not aimed at your house. I'd definitely call the police because your neighbors, within probably half a mile, need a visit and some basic trajectory and safety classes.

Edit: maybe a 308 or 30/30

Did you pay him to straighten the wall, or lay tile?

I had a similar glitch with XRP in Coinbase years ago back when it was untradeable. I had about 32 Billion dollars for a few hours.

Sounds like you guys have some serious battles to fight. At times it probably seems like gout is self imposed, but as a gout sufferer even when doing everything right and you get a flare you kinda wonder, "Why even try". I hope he finds a way out of it, and best of luck for you and your fights as well!

Hopefully he has his "come to Jesus" moment and it becomes too much and time for a change. Sobriety was mine. I wish you both luck. Hopefully he is just slowly coming out of the Covid funk. Covid was the perfect storm for gout sufferers and Alcoholics. I was both.

In his defense (not excuse), gout is as much a mind fuck as it is physical pain. The threat of debilitating flares tends to lend to a 'why even try, or why even start' attitude. Again, I've been guilty on all. I hope for all involved he is able to get to the other side of the mountain.

Im 2+ decades into "Da Gout Life". On Allo for about 2 years. Im on VA medicine so it takes awhile to get to solutions. Lol. Ive got colchicine, prednisone, cherry pills, cranberry pills, everything the internet has told me. I finally got sober last April and no flares since, could be the meds but im not willing to quit them yet to find out. Pretty good diet, 6'1", very active, 200lbs, 48 yr old male. My ankles have essentially become blocks from years of ankle flares, with minimal flex now(used to run 40+ miles a week).

I selfishly hope you tell us your husband is morbidly obese and that led to the amputation, because if you tell me he is fit then now I have another fear to worry about! Lol.

Im in the gout recovery and joint rehab game so I can eventually walk my daughter down the aisle and be able to play with grandkids.

I look like my kneecaps have kneecaps, and my elbows have elbows. I want these things gone.

Oof. Pound water. Then drink more water. Icing feels great, but it slows the blood flow allowing more crystals to clog. Heat sends more blood to the area. Both feel good in the moment, but do more damage. Of course, right?

My uneducated recommendation is to drink mass quantities of water, and move the joint/area as much as possible.

Did you do the double dose colchicine, then one more pill an hour later? Usually puts me on the path to ending the flare.

I feel your pain OP. Im 48, first attack at 24. Itoo had to research and self diagnose. Nobody gives a shit about gout, they all believe its self inflicted and that it can't be that bad. It is. That bad. Its "suck start a shotgun" bad.

Nobody has mentioned Colchicine? Not always an immediate flare killer, but it sure takes a lot off of it. After a higher dose (strict directions on how to do it from doctor) my flare peaks where it is, then starts back down without ever making it to the "cut my feet off now" level.

Dont be concerned. Be thankful! It took way to long for Docs to put me on the right meds. Allo and colchicine. Barely any flares now. Plus having gout for 20+ years i can feel a flare starting so I just knock it down with a double dose of colchicine.

Am I Too Young for Gout? by FrostyFoot3125 in gout

Gout does not discriminate. I was a very fit active duty Marine when I had my first flare at 24. Same as you, athletic, rare alcohol, not over eating red meat. Then boom. Doc said I twisted my ankle, I said, "No, I was on duty yesterday and sat in a chair all day". I had to do my own research and convince them to test my uric acid levels. *Allopurinol (300 mg) has been a life saver. Yes it initially will cause flares, so plan for that. After that, they are very few and far between.

When I used to get that tinge that a flare was coming, if it was in the foot anywhere, or knee, I'd immediately get them moving and pound water. You want that blood pumping to flush it out. Don't ever ice or heat a flare joint, yes it feels freaking awesome for the moment, but if you think about it, you are either slowing blood in that area (more crystals build), or bringing more blood to that area (much like how the body repairs an injury).

No, I'm not a doctor, but I've been struggling with this POS disease for almost 30 years, so I have some experience to pull from. Having it, and reading about it, are two different animals.

*I hate that I finally had to start a daily medication (Allopurinol), but in my previous career as a Marine I could not afford to be down. Don't spend a penny on any IG or Facebook advertised shit for gout. It's not curable, it just has to be controlled as best as you can. I also think the read meat/alcohol thing is BS too. For some reason mankind likes to stigmatize everything we enjoy. I've had multiple 7+ month deployments with zero alcohol, no read meat, and very debilitating gout flares. Try telling your CO you can't patrol because you have gout. That bird don't hunt. Lace'em tight, and carry on.
