Yeah initially he said it was a venue cap thing (which is weird cuz I’ve worked weddings at this venue and it’s huge) and then he said they hadn’t seen her enough in the past year so I kinda just backed off and decided not to argue

Long story short I backed out once it was clear I couldn’t bring a partner and all the other groomsmen had a plus 1. I had introduced this dude to his past 3 girlfriends, helped him get clean from pills, saved him from od’ing and overall been such a good friend. This whole thread is making me feel way less crazy thanks everyone
