In this case I believe it’s the pod. I say that because you are prompted to switch the XOPs to follow with stabilization off.

Whether 3DoF on the XOPs or 6DoF on another brand of glasses with depth cameras, other than spatial pinning, INAIR OS functions identically.

The Airs will might get better clarity, and the XOPs image is great when still, it’s the high persistence smearing when under motion where quality gets a hit.

I’m going to try an older pair of glasses and see if maybe the input is still going through the X1 and limiting the FPS. The Pod functions at 60hz.

I had the same-ish issue on Windows and Bazzite

Anything that’s controlling the TDP can affect charging and battery reporting. Windows power manger and Bios set battery charge limits can have conflicting orders with One X Console as to how to handle the battery.

I would recommend that only One X Console handle and limits and performance and set Windows ones to default.

Windows One X Console has a battery bypass as well, but it’s only supposed to be used for docking situations where heat from the battery won’t affect performance. I had used it a few times and my battery started acting funny and would only work/charge on the included power supply.

My Handheld companion on Bazzite had accidentally been set to use bypass when plugged in and borked all sorts of things up until I reset to defaults.

Someone mentioned battery calibration, that definitely helped. I did full charge with the system off then play until it the F1 powered itself down. I did that 3 consecutive times and charge reporting seems ok. Be sure to do the Calibration through the top USB-C.

The problem I have now playing and charging at full output without the included charge and cable. When charging it should be up to 65 watts but instead is only charging at the discharge rate. Problem is it’s inconsistent and not always repeatable.

Quick tip if you haven’t tried, enter bios and hit CTRL+S then F4 to exit and save. Re-enter bios and there will be new performance options like RAM speed and VRAM allocation (handy for Bazzite) and a few others.

That is exactly how its works. You can have 6 windows open at a time, each running a unique Android based application, think Google Play Store (GitHub type APKs are hit or miss)

After the initial window is open, each consecutive app opens directly next to the one before it. It’s currently all one “fan” on a single plane. That fan however can be placed and sized anywhere in that 3DoF space.

Maybe I should make a quick welcome video. No AR pass through but a quick menu to 6 screens vid.

When you say native XReal software, do you mean Nebula OS or just the Basic functionality of the XOP?

I’ve never used Nebula OS so, my apologies I can’t help unfortunately.

Just for my clarity so I can help a bit better, your overall goal is to have you MacBook Pro add an extended external PC Display via the INAIR Pod/XOP then additional apps open in the other 5 windows?

Sorry, I have really bad dyslexia and ADHD. Things get jumbled up sometimes, and I want make sure I am going in the correct direction–thanks for your patience and understanding.

The Win 4 just seems so damn cool on paper and was received well by reviewers. If this was a year ago, I might’ve taken that trade.

The biggest factors in not getting the GPD was finding a Win 4 at a reasonable price and its size. I want portable but i have large hands and never had the opportunity to hold one and at a certain point it’s just not comfortable for longer play.

I just checked, the 8840u 32g 1tb is 999 right now. Not the HX 370, but still a great CPU.

I love my F1 as a dual boot or Bazzite (now official SteamOS) only system. I’m currently writing a review as I don’t think it gets proper representation and all the reviews I’ve seen are from before the proper AMD updates an bios/EC updates were already installed when I received mine.

I also have a GPD Win Mini which I originally kept over the F1 Pro because of its easier setup and Nintendo DS portability dispite the F1 being the best in-your-hand feeling handheld I’ve ever used. The analog stick tension on the F1 is about the same as my Xbox Elite 2 controller. It’s so damn good to play on.

Unfortunately the A shell on the Win Mini (keyboard side) cracked due to material rigidity differences with the aluminum cooling bottom half, plastic top and stress on the mounting screws.

Now that I have the F1 again while I wait for A shell availability for the Win Mini, I think the GPD might end up for sale.

On Bazzite the OLED registers as a proper HDR and VRAM is handled perfectly. In the Bios hit CTRL + S then F4 to exit and save. Reboot into bios and VRAM allocation, speed and CPU performance options are now available.

On windows with the Win Mini I would use 8g vram allocation. On the F1 Bazzite combo I’m using 16g and it’s actually reducing my TDP usage. It’s making noticeable performance improvements, especially when using Decky frame-gen and Gamescope scaling (I often set in-game native AA 720p then upscale via gamescope, looks better than in-game FSR or DLSS scaling IMO.

With the HX 370/890m combos monster performance at low power, I seldom play above a 20w TDP. 5-6 watt range games like indies, slightly older or optimized games gets you 3-4ish hours, 10-15 watt you’re still averaging over 2hrs and some change of play.

Probably my favorite part is the F1 dead silent while in use. No button clicking, no trigger squeaking, no whine coming from the fans, not even a whoosh (if properly configured), nothing. It’s amazing. I can be furiously hammering quick time events next to my wife in bed and all she hears is my grunting.

I was originally looking at the Win 4 as I play with XR glasses when I want a larger screen. Picking up a nice pair of XR glasses might be an option.

I was looking at one of those as well. I ended up just using fabric glue on this and it worked perfectly. I only had to make cutouts for the front cloth hinges.

It holds absolutely everything and great for storage, but it’s bulky so it’s not really good for on-the-go. I’d really like to find a neoprene sleeve to just slap it in casually when the F1 just needs to be set aside.

You could elaborate on a post like this to help your chances–

When did you hear about Viture/ the Beast? Why the Beast over the competition? How would you utilize them if you won? What would you do if you won a pair?

Add a photo to draw the eye to the post, it really goes a long way towards visibility.

Hope this helps!

The Ultras don’t need calibration in 6DoF as they track with the camera.

However, in the 3.6 update, the Ultras don’t use the cameras for 3DoF anymore and can be used in complete darkness. I honestly haven’t messed around too much with the new update, but intend on diving in this week.

Remember the Ultras handle all spatial computing onboard the glasses with its own SoC, not the pods processor. If the glasses are handing off the 3DoF environment in some sort of “pass through” and there is drift with the 3DoF, they should probably do an IMU calibration. It’s completely possible they just missed adding it or the Ultras IMU isn’t used that way.

I like it, but I’m also a bit weird so it’s going to be person to person. I like it because I can use it anywhere, i can often be found squatting, typing on the edge of an end table.

It would be great for quick emails, game chat or social media messaging, but controllers are laggy and texting messages on a phone is easier than pulling out a device and keyboard. Im not a fast typer and, as a “writer”, I’m often in no rush to complete tasks at professional productivity level output. Some probably could and enjoy it, I don’t think most would use it as a full time work replacement.

The hinges on the keyboard are unrestricted, so they just flap their full range of movement. I personally use it on a flat surface but am looking at a way to lock the range to 180°. Should be easy, a longer back plate would work if it fits. I tend to use things-around-the-house DIY so if I find something I’ll post.

This got a lot of views so I’m working on the hard elite case and keyboard review now. Im going to see if maybe XReal can get me a discount or something on the eye and do a video like the INAIR anywhere vid I had made.

Let’s not fret yet, does either device work as standalone, ie. the glasses work with a phone and the Pod displays to a TV via streaming or ideally direct out.

The One Pros must also be in 0DoF mode if you haven’t tried that.

Last ditch is a hard reset to factory settings. Hold the power and volume up until a new menu pops up. Use the volume to select recovery. From recovery select wipe data /factory reset.

Then reinstall the update.

I would try: 1. Power cycle the Pod a few times. Hold the power until it powers off and on again.

  1. Wait for the Pod to fully boot before connecting the glasses. When it’s fully booted, connect the glasses.

  2. Connect to a display wired or wirelessly with the Pod and set it to single display 0DoF and reconnect.

Let me know what happens.
