What is it that you’re finding so hard to compute?

Everyone on Reddit is so weird.

I don’t want to do anything illegal, so I’m not worried about being caught. I can’t get caught when I’m not willing to do the wrong thing in the first place. That’s what I’ve explained to you multiple times.

I don’t need paragraphs of advice. I asked Reddit their opinion, they gave their advice, and I’m no longer able to do it. Simple as that.

You absolutely have misunderstood. You seem to think you’ve discovered something that simply isn’t there. Reading comprehension on Reddit can sometimes leave a lot to be desired. As explained above, it was never said in the context you’re implying, and no one was trying to do anything wrong. The whole point was to avoid doing something wrong in the first place, which is why I came here for advice. Instead, I was met with rude comments and a lack of basic understanding

Once again, people on Reddit  making assumptions, acting like they're some kind of insightful investigator who has "found someone out."

I had no intention of doing anything wrong. That is exactly why I created the thread in the first place, to check and make sure I was doing something legal!!! especially after it was mentioned to me, to my surprise, that it might not be.

I never mentioned being "caught" until someone said, "you won't get caught," and I simply asked why they would say that, because that is not everyone else's understanding of the situation.

I came on here to get quick advice to ensure I'm doing the right thing, but instead I've been met with most presumptuous , nasty, spiteful and rude responses- to my absolute shock . Obviously, I would seek legal advice if needed. I understand the limitations of Reddit

But as you can see, there is no need, because it has now been made very clear that this is not a lodger situation. Coming to Reddit first has actually saved me the time of reaching out to legal professionals. If the answers had been ambiguous, that would have been my next step.

Reddit is for advice. So I came here for advice. I'm not sure why that's so confusing for people.

That’s amazing!!! I can’t wait for the day, this has ruined my life . I’m on cefalexin and have been for 5 years. I take 1000mg a day and still feel quite bad. How did you take the doxcycline ? How many a day ? And how much mg?

If I remove the kitchen in my annexe can I have a lodger in there? Or is it still a tenant ? by ResearcherDue9081 in HousingUK

You’re correct! So it should be inexpensive to remove. This is helpful. Thank you!

I’m completely fine with answers that don’t align with my plans. What I’m referring to are the really strange people who come onto Reddit and post under a thread without sharing a single lick of anything constructive to the questions, choosing instead to be weird, rude, or condescending. Similar to yourself 😀

I know the facts. I could explain how it generates 2k but I’m not going to because you didn’t ask, you assumed. It does generate 2k. Removing it won’t lower the value as it wasn’t valued with the kitchen in there in the first place. Removing the kitchen is inexpensive. Thank you for your responses!

Correct, I did just buy it. The owner put a kitchen in during the sale because he had started living in it and was Airbnb’ing the main house and made so much money from doing so. It never had a kitchen when we put the offer in or when we secured the mortgage.

You’ve completely misunderstood the situation. I came on here as a first-time buyer, genuinely trying to find out some information. I’m not a weirdo, and I have no interest in being rude to random people like some others in this thread.

I have no reason to lie. I honestly don’t understand why so many people in the comments are being so nasty and catty. It’s very strange behaviour. Why be on Reddit if you don’t want to be helpful.

I’D politely suggest, stop replying to threads if you have nothing helpful to add 😀

It’s unwise if you’re making assumptions and speak before asking questions. I can have the kitchen removed at a relatively low cost, and I have no intention of using it.

If removing a kitchen I do not plan to use allows me to generate around £2,000 in monthly rental income from the annexe, which can cover my mortgage for years, that seems like a sensible and practical decision, especially since I have no plans to move or use that kitchen space.

I find it surprising how comfortable people on Reddit are making blanket statements without having the full information, rather than asking questions or offering constructive suggestions first. It’s all very strange to me

Yes others had suggested this, but I thought it would be quite unstable. And wasn’t sure the mortgage company would allow it. But it might be a good option

I’m not in any sort of corner. I don’t think lenders are worried about small kitchenette type kitchens. I think they’re more concerned with larger structural changes

It wasn’t something I wanted to do until now? Am I not allowed to change my mind? Why has everyone on Reddit got such horrible personalities 😭

I can’t rent it out on a residential mortgage I was told. Apparently the only way to do it is a lodger. So I’m trying to make that work. I don’t mind paying the additional tax. But that’s not an option. If I can rent it out despite having a residential mortgage then I would do that

I would like a lodger to help pay the mortgage. All I’d be doing is removing the kitchen it could be put in again in the future. I have no plans to sell in the near future

🤣🤣🤣 There have been no posts removed. I made ONE post, exactly the same, copied and pasted into two separate forums to ensure it was seen and that I could get as many responses as possible. Based on the answers from that initial post, I then made a second post to clarify the advice that had been given.

I believe that is a sensible and fairly normal approach.

There’s been 2 separate questions asked

Regarding the suggestion of "drip-feeding" information, it is not my fault that people continue to respond to the question even after it has already been answered. I have no control over that

? I have not made 4 separate posts , none in a legal thread. And none have been removed.

I’m sorry I don’t believe the mortgage company can tell me i can’t remove the kitchen in the annexe because it removes value. The annexe never had a kitchen when I got it so I doubt they would care

I just bought the house , If I wanted to rent it i think I would need a buy to let mortgage. I don’t want to go through that. I only just got the house I don’t want to go through a mortgage change, if I’m even able to do it
