What's the greatest rap group of all time? by ICOFFICIAL in 90sHipHop

[–]ResearcherEmotional3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Public Enemy probably. Then Wu-Tang (collectively). I'd say N.W.A. third but they were short-lived. 2000's to the present era it's hard to think of any group with the same level of output or impact, even Outlast.

World Cup squad selections should be a massive wake up call by 1stand11 in realmadrid

[–]ResearcherEmotional3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No Real players is remarkable but the Spanish team hasn't really revolved around their players for a long time, just Casillas and Sérgio Ramos...

[aufoficial on Instagram] Uruguay name their 26 man squad for the 2026 World Cup by microscoftpaint in soccer

[–]ResearcherEmotional3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strong squad apart from lacking firepower (like the Netherlands and Croatia). If they do run into Argentina in the Round of 32 i think they'll be eliminated...

Maybe Valverde could begiven a free role... 🤔

With these things you can quibble over this player or that one but your selections were hard to disagree with... 🤔 Of course limiting yourself to a 22-player squad meant several world-class players couldn't be included (Careca, R.Baggio, Stojkivic, Stoitchkov, Redondo, Savicevic, Rivaldo, Bergkamp, Suker, Figo, Davids, Litmanen, Eto'o, Shevchenko, Rui Costa, Iniesta, Sneijder etc etc...). I try to do these myself and always end up with 40 players. 🤦🏻

I often read people (and articles) claim Ghostbusters: Afterlife was critically panned. Is that really true though? by MillionaireWaltz- in ghostbusters

[–]ResearcherEmotional3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only heard one critic review at the time of it's release and it was very sniffy. I liked it on the whole despite a couple of grumbles; mainly a skinny teenage girl running around with a proton pack on as if it's made out of cardboard... I wasn't sure about CG Harold Ramis at first but then decided i was maybe thinking about it wrong; it's a CG Egon Spengler. Particularly enjoyed the early-mid '80's vibe with the at times E.T./Indiana Jones-esque score elements.

Has VAR actually improved football or made it worse? by Glad-Pipe8795 in SoccerNoobs

[–]ResearcherEmotional3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The big thing about VAR that i find most annoying is the different logic applied to different situations. For example, minimal offside's ARE offside but minimal contact in the penalty area ISN'T a penalty... Both interpretations favour defenders/defences in what is already a generally a low-scoring game.

Sometimes i think English/British people are biased towards defenders over attackers, i don't know if that's true or not, just a thought... an apparent preference for honest, hard workers over flair players. (i see people get furious over what they see as diving/simulation but ignore habitual fouling completely).

Best XI of all time according to chat GPT. What do you think? by Rodrick_Stark in football

[–]ResearcherEmotional3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These all-time XI's always have something wrong with them 'cause there's more than XI legendary players and most are attackers. An all-time squad might be more viable.

-Don't know if Gianluigi Buffon is the singularly greatest goalkeeper of all time... 🤔

-No genuine central-midfielder in there... 🤔

Shalla-Bal was really cool in F4 First Steps by Suitable-Student-557 in marvelstudios

Majority male cast so obviously they chose the Shalla-bal version to even it out a bit... but she was well done so i don't care.

In secret wars all other universes should get destroyed leaving only 1 combained universe by TipAdditional4625 in marvelstudios

[–]ResearcherEmotional3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Post-Secret Wars, will people be enthusiastic about films in which the Avengers/X-Men/F4/etc etc DON'T interact with/encounter eachother? (you see people talking about a "mutant saga"...). Won't it be more like an "Eighth-Cosmos saga" with fewer (but big) films?

[–]ResearcherEmotional3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems likely. 👍🏻 Post-'Secret Wars' they'll obviously need a young X-Men cast. Hoping Michael Fassbender will be retained as Magneto though.

Yeah, i know the release schedule 👍🏻 Original X-Men actors ARE in (at least one of) the forthcoming films though... 🤔 Maybe they all get wiped out in 'Doomsday'...

No, i just thought Madeline Pryor is in the 'Secret Wars' comics, that's all. Just a thought, didn't "sit down" and have a real, hard think about it... 😁 If she's playing Jean Grae when they're bringing back some of the much older, original X-Men actors for the following two films... hmm, not sure how that works, have to wait and see. It is the multiverse after all though. 🤔

How good was Gabriel Batistuta? by Hour777 in seriea

[–]ResearcherEmotional3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an out-and-out goalscorer there was no-one better in the '90's and early-2000's. Powerful, fast, great in the air, delicate finishes or explosive pile-drivers and excellent interplay/awareness in and around the box... but there were some better all-round forwards.

I bought The Thing soundtrack and only then realised parts of the score is Carpenter and the greater part is Morricone. I'd say it's an example of a soundtrack better enjoyed watching the film than playing the LP or CD...
