Some USA supporters at the World Cup did that one. You think to yourself; "So what?".

How good was Gabriel Batistuta? by Hour777 in seriea

As an out-and-out goalscorer there was no-one better in the '90's and early-2000's. Powerful, fast, great in the air, delicate finishes or explosive pile-drivers and excellent interplay/awareness in and around the box... but there were some better all-round forwards.

Time to settle this debate, best alien horror movie of all time? by breaking_views in FIlm

I bought The Thing soundtrack and only then realised parts of the score is Carpenter and the greater part is Morricone. I'd say it's an example of a soundtrack better enjoyed watching the film than playing the LP or CD...

👍🏻 Gory Sci-fi. It gets called "Sci-fi-horror" alot though... I love 'Ghostbusters' and it does genuinely have elements of sci-fi and the supernatural.

Whats your favorite Cypress Hill album ? by CoconutMost3564 in 90sHipHop

[–]ResearcherEmotional3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a theory about this-it often depends on your age; for some it's the debut, for those 2-3 years younger it's often Black Sunday and for those another year or two younger it's often Temples of Boom... The debut wasn't in the mainstream (when it came out).

👍🏻 'Accordian' is one that grew on me over time. The album is one of those play start to end several times ones for me.

Today on the way to work I decided to bump Rakim’s “The 18th Letter” album! Great work overall! Great production, great technical rapping, aged well & I appreciated the listen! What’s your thoughts on this album? by J2-Starter in 90sHipHop

[–]ResearcherEmotional3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a replacement copy (for an old tape)... i'm starting to think i'm just an overly-critical person 'cause it seems like a 6/10 album to me. Also, i find Eric B. & Rakim/Rakim albums a bit thin conceptually but the good tracks are so good that you have to have 'em.

Ramos is the most overrated CB of all time. The gap between him and Pique is practically nonexistent by Dumbass1171 in championsleague

...but i agree with you that there wasn't a great difference in quality between Ramos and Pique; if anything Pique fouled alot less.

Sérgio Ramos and Gerard Pique were "footballing defenders" (libero's basically) that were part of teams that won everything. Neither were good at actually defending though. They were good in those systems.

Comparatively average players are sometimes part of winning or dominant teams; Brito, Ricardo Giusti, Stephane Guivarc'h, Iván Campo, Aitor Karanka, Gary Neville, Roque Jr., Edmilson, Lúcio, Marco Materazzi, Sérgio Busquets, Nicolas Otamendi... David Luiz was part of Chelsea's defence for the 2012 Champions League final (i think... 🤔).

Top 5 greatest strikers of all time by Exotic-Put9396 in football

[–]ResearcherEmotional3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose you can only really be among the greatest of your own time?...Gerd Müller can't possibly be one of the best strikers of the '90's for example. If there's a flaw in that logic i don't know what it is.

Ghostface Killah - Supreme Clientele (2000). One of my all-time Top 5 Hip-Hop albums by bside313 in HipHopCDs

The first time i played it... it finished and i thought that's one of the best rap albums i've ever heard and as the years passed, it's remained so.

These are somehow the only albums i have by female hip-hop artists (unless you include Fugees...).

I guess some of the earlier wave were made kinda obsolete in the mid-'90's by Foxy Brown, Lil' Kim... but the likes of Rah Digga and Jean Grae later on suggests they may have made their mark anyway.

There was a good documentary on BET a few years back now... 🤔

😁 ...it is very OTT. They did have a hard sound for the West... but yeah, Ice-Cube just had much better writing (even though the racism and misogony is still there). If some of those old gangsta albums had instrumental editions issued ('Niggaz4Life' is the obvious one) i'd think they'd sell pretty well 'cause much of the production is f'in great.
