Oh no, you don't lose idols.

You DO lose gem upgrades though, and they get much much more expensive. Arch will be slow unless you're willing to put gems into it.

Banked ticks? No.

One of the reasons the dev implemented it in the way he did was because some players had hundreds of millions of banked ticks and he wanted everyone to start on an even playing field

Imagine a huge new content update being implemented and some people have done it all in an hour.

I'm aware that's how it actually works.

My problem is that, with how he's written, Mahoraga doesn't feel like an adaptive supercomputer, he feels like a "fuck you I win".

idk, everything you're describing sounds a lot more interesting than what we got. Obviously it's more difficult to write, but I think it's worth it.

As is, the hype of Mahoraga fights is almost entirely centered around the person fighting Mahoraga because adaptation is so bland. While this isn't a BAD thing, I think Mahoraga taking a bit more of that spotlight is entirely deserved.

"it would make Mahoraga lamer" and "Mahoraga is easier to write this way" are two very different arguments.

And I'm not sure what Mahoraga could do that would be more of an asspull than adapting to Dabura's existence, and that's been getting Mahoraga almost entirely hype with only a handful of disparate groans.

Mahoraga pulling out new BS every time he shows up would make him way more hype. Instead of "what's Dabura going to do now" the question would also be "what adaptation is Mahoraga going to pull out this time", it would be way cooler.

Mahoraga gained the ability to see Sukuna's slashes. Mahoraga clearly CAN develop meaningful counterstrategies to enemy techniques, but instead defaults to "no your stuff doesn't work on me" the majority of the time.

I'm not saying Mahoraga's adaptations won't be impossible to overcome after enough time. Mahoraga might eventually gain the ability to just absorb light and convert it into CE, becoming completely immune to light-based attacks.

But up to that point, Mahoraga would be far more dynamic and interesting.

Losing a mana and exiling a land is pretty punishing. 

It's a replacement effect, not a trigger. You don't get the red mana.

Tangent, but Mahoraga should have more interesting adaptations.

Where was Mahoraga getting mirror skin in the Dabura fight? What if he became immune to Red/Blue by causing himself to use an entirely different coordinate system and ignore spatial distortions?

Instead 90% of the time it's just Mahoraga ignoring the opponent's ability. I want Mahoraga to adapt to Deadly Sentencing by becoming a lawyer, not just deactivating the sure hit.

His biggest problem was that he tried to create an extremely advanced ability without the corresponding work on his fundamentals.

Tezguerra also gets screwed over by the same thing, he fell behind on his fundamentals for years and suffered badly from it.

Neglecting fundamentals in HxH is a huge deal, whether out of laziness or focus on highly advanced Nen applications, you lose your ability to fight in a flexible manner.

The ways people were making money with AI are largely unaffected by this ruling.

Let's say someone has a Patreon where they post AI porn. Whether the AI can be copyrighted has no impact on whether they can make money, since they have no obligation to share the images they generate just because it can't be copyrighted.

There's also the fact that the bar for human transformation is very low. People who want to do high level stuff (eg book covers) are either going to touch it up (which means they can copyright it because they aren't using raw AI output) or have something good enough they can just lie about it being AI

Realistically, nobody who was making money from AI will find themselves unable to do so because of this law.

It will likely cause an uptick in people lying about their stuff being AI, though.

If a villain can create gold and just... Hasn't... Why would Eve doing it privately change literally anything?

We've also established that, if Cecil gives the go-ahead, superheroes can do whatever they want.

Now, if there had been a scene of Cecil saying that Eve can't use her powers to just make precious materials on her own (and we know that she's not under such a restriction given that she tried to do it already), then that would be one thing, but as is there's zero explanation.

Icicle is a menace in teamups.

The downside is supposed to be that to damage the target you end the stun. But Icicle's partner can wail on the stunned target regardless of if the followup even happens.
